Feminism: Webster’s Word of the Year 2017 (RME)

You’re kidding right?

Feminism?

That was the word of the decade back in the 70s when women changed the script to the dumb slogan:

I can bring home the bacon AND fry it up in the pan.

Ha! In truth, those pushing this agenda were spearheaded by a group of women who formed the National Organization of Women (NOW).

Sadly, the majority of this group's leaders were lesbian, and had no inkling of what it meant to “let him know he’s the man”, as the cliché went.

And now, 40 years later, feminism is the word of the year.

Even more sad, is that the radical aspect has morphed into something that doesn’t speak to real women as being womanly. I’m reminded of ‘women’ putting pink ‘hats’ on their heads, marching through the streets, calling themselves nasty.

What?

Anyway, I think it’s a sad commentary on Merriam-Webster when this off-balanced word, destroying the peaceable life of many women, has found its way back into the limelight.

Only a fool would buy into the fraud that it’s cooler to earn it and make it, while dumping the precious children at the daycare for 12 hours.

I’m saying don’t buy into the lie. While many mothers successfully manage working outside of the home, the majority do so with a very, very very supportive spouse. This is not to downplay the single mothers who do beautiful jobs of working and being dual parents. They are a special breed, who oftentimes are closer to burnout than they would ever let on.

While I am all for the rights of women, I take pause at what type of women are representing the 'feminist' movement. Today's example of feminism lacks any symbols of a woman's true femininity on far too many levels to mention.
