I had the opportunity several years ago to be in this journey with friends who already not the first time I went to catch a salmon on the Kola Peninsula. Flights to Murmansk, and from there 8 hours UAZ on forest roads to HOMESTEAD in the wilds of the taiga, and from the squatting another 2 hours "on the armor" ( tracked military Transporter, slightly altered for the transport of 8 persons). The trip cost 1.5 thousand dollars per person. The license we bought a local fisherman - guide, participating in this group trip.
Why almost do not put commercial camps far from the mouth of salmon rivers? It's very simple. Once the salmon enters fresh water, it starts to happen the spawning metamorphosis. Of bright silver fish it is gradually getting darker on the skin begin to appear bright multicolored patches. In males there is a change in the geometry of the jaw apparatus, which turns into a frightening beak...
The capture of such "loralai" fish is considered to be less prestigious than fresh-advanced "Serebryanka". Fresh have not spent forces in the movement up the river, and when caught resisted so much that it is difficult to find an analogue... that is why the foreign anglers for the year book place and pay a lot of money to get to camp as close as possible to the mouth of the spawning rivers of entry of salmon. What to take to the spinning of tackle and lures in such a trip?
