Today on Thor's Day I have a very rhythmic track to share with you. It's Tribal. It's Ancient. It's Hypnotic. Move to the rhythm and remember, we are all one tribe: Humans on Earth, and ALL of our perceptions are gambles. The world would be a much saner place if we all realized that and we stopped taking our hallucinations so seriously. Hope you enjoy.

So, even though our brains are 3-D objects, the symphony of electricity inside our heads is Multi-Dimensional. We see patterns everywhere because, let's face it, to the average mind chaos and randomness is frightening. Order seems better, unless you read my last post.
The Blue Brain Project is working on unraveling the complexities of the brain by graphing the connections. By doing this they've discovered that even though our brains are essentially 3-D bio-computers, the connections and the processes operate on a much higher dimensional space.
“We found a world that we had never imagined,” says Dr. Henry Markram, director of Blue Brain Project and professor at the EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland who led the study. “The mathematics usually applied to study networks cannot detect the high-dimensional structures and spaces that we now see clearly.”

The Magenta Project is a Google project trying to figure out if they can use machine learning to create art and music. They are trying to tap into that messy adaptive creative wellspring with machines and "alogrhythms". It'll be interesting to see how this project progresses. I think art and music stems from our ability to adapt. Millions of years of battling it out with Nature has given us our creativity machine brains. Can programming do the same and shortcut evolution, or will the artificial creative process short circuit itself?

For years, "experts" and futurists have been saying that automation and robotics are bound to take over human tasks. We see it now, somewhat slowly creeping. Robotic surgery, self driving cars, automated fast food. But when will the takeover be complete? and what happens then? Do we tax the robots and develop Universal Income? Will the robots fight for their rights? Oxford and Yale university asked 352 AI researches what they thought about the timeline and... we only have a couple decades left. Plenty of time to become rich on the internet before the Robot Takeover is complete.
