IT'S GETTING TOUGH,SO GET TOUGHER

I heard this phrase from a friend and started thinking about what it mean on a deeper level.Is he talking about being mean,rude or reckless with the way you approach others, I believe that's capital no.Being tough means being able to endure all the hardship that comes your way without quitting and giving up on your purpose.
