HEAVENLY COOKED 😇🍴 - Poké Bar

Welcome to another episode of "HEAVENLY COOKED 😇🍴". 

I havent been able to eat outside in the last few days because I had so much stuff to do. But I had some meetings and appointments this Monday so I decided to visit a new place that @lisadang recommended. 

I literally had no idea what to expect but since almost everyone is on a "healthy trip" right know, I already knew that this restaurant will be something new. It is located in the middle of the shopping district in Hamburg next to Urban Outfitters, Block House, Vapiano and more. 

When you take a first look into the restaurant, you will notice that the whole "bar" has an American/summer flavor which is nice. The concept of the store is actually from the US and maybe you have heard about this place. Their journey started with fish in 1989 when Yanagi Sushi was opened in the heart of Northridge, CA. Now they offer different sorts of salmon, tuna, chicken and also tofu. The menu is very simple. You have two different sizes of bowls (S,M) and start with the base where you can choose from sushi rice, green baby leaf, purple quinoa and glass noodles. Most people chose sushi rice just like I did but i will definitely try out the purple quinoa next time. After that you select the fish/meat. As I said, you can pick soy-lemon salmon, spicy-tuna, teriyaki chicken or tropical tofu. Sounds quite delicious right? But there is more... 

As a topping you are able to choose from 18 different flavors such as mango, radish, beetroot, sweet potatoes, Korean kimchi and a lot more. I decided to go for a "safe" dish and chose grated carrots, sweet potatoes, Korean kimchi and broccoli. It looked very fresh and my mouth was already watering. Now you could choose between different sauces and it was kind of hard to decide because the worker didnt know the flavors so I went for a simple ranch/garlic sauce which was great but I think there were a few more flavors that would match a little bit better. Anyway, last but least you could choose some crispy toppings and I picked cashew nuts. This made the dish complete!

But before I could eat this delicious looking meal, I needed to wait at least 10-15 minutes in the line because there were more people than I expected. When I was next in line, my tummy was already asking for food and I couldnt wait for the dish to be me mine...

The interior was quite simple but still cozy and inviting. I decided to take an homemade ice-tea in the flavor mango which was definitely the right choice!

I truly live by this quote since I have realized that food can change a lot on your physical body. Your skin, your health, your fitness, the mass of your body fat... Food can change so much and it is truly worth it to invest into great nutritions! My body condition wasnt always the best and I went through different stages but I feel like I am on the right path creating the body I want. There is a lot you can do by lifting weights or doing some cardio but the most important thing is truly the choice of food!

If anyone ever asked me what to eat, I always give the same answer. Try it out! I dont believe in commercials, diet products etc. Every body reacts to food differently so you need to figure out what is best for you. Of course there are some basics like vegetables, water instead of juices, fruits, vitamins, fish and more but you dont need to renounce the good stuff. Just figure out where your limit is and you are soon going to feel better, trust me!

I wish I could show you some more gifs from Hamburg because the shopping district is located besides the Alster which is so pretty during summer time but since Germany had some issues by showing sunshine, the whole day was filled with greyish clouds, rain drops and boring looking faces.... 

It´s okay because I am looking forward to travel the world and enjoying the sun at different places. 

I hope you enjoyed this post even if it was something different than usual. Of course I like good burgers, pizza or stuff like that but changing the food habits into healthy isnt the worst thing.
