Weekend Country Farmers Market Nova Scotia Canada.
A day with Granny in the countryside..
When I compare the local fresh food markets in Dalian China to the this one in Antigonish N.S. they are similar but in Canada they have more art and trinkets than in Dalian. Also here is cleaner and the shop keepers are interested to know your name and have some simple chit chat.
Let's take a look inside
All fresh locally grown produce, and some fresh seafood, from with in 100 miles. The "within 100 miles" is a small but growing movement to keep the planet greener. See, when food is grown and consumed near home it travels less. Less travelling equals fresher and less oil burned in trucks and trains and ships and sometimes flying to get it anywhere. Also it supports the local economy.
(picked this morning)
But hey, since we got a bunch people in one place let's sell a bunch of other handmade country things. Quilts, beer, jewelry, art, cooked and frozen dinners or soups.
(more stuff)
(Soaps and stuff girls like in the bathroom)
(Homemade sausages and meats products)
And my dear 80+ years old Granny who drives and lives alone still needs a hand carrying the heavier things. It was fun watching her drag stuff around. Just kidding I'm a good grandson.
Live folk music to please the crowd in the background. Ah jeez, i really miss Canada when I'm in China. I really hope it's nearing the end of my time in China as much as I love living and working in China.
(father and son duet I guess.)
It's a nice place to wander around and meet the locals, catch up on the local gossip and if you're new in town build your social network.
(Fresh Atlantic seafood, or frozen if you plan to keep it longer.)
(Food trucks, this one has lobster, it has me drooling)
(So much to see and the weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold)
And there's much more but you're going to have to come here and see. Or wait for my next post.
Nothing beats local produce, nothing. Except for maybe gold and diamonds from around the world.
Stay tuned for the goat show.
Headed to Nova Scotia tomorrow for vacation. I'm only coming from Quebec, but I don't consider this province part of Canada. The people here aren't the same as Nova Scotia.
Funny, i just landed in montreal. Its very different from canada. The rest if quebec is nothing like montreal or canada. I love quebec, so much more i need to see.
Where abouts in NS you going?
I'll be sailing around the Bras D'Or lakes in Cape Breton. North Sydney mostly when I'm not in the boat.
Looking forward to those posts
Hi,
Looks like a fun and many products to see and buy.
It was a fun trip couldn't have had a better shopping date.
#solarguy Bro can you please, let me know that what is Canada famous for?
Beautiful women, sex in snow and Maple Syrup. Sometimes all at once.
Oh, and where America films a lot movies because it looks similar.😸
@solarguy nice place. thinking of visiting this place. A lot number of products are present at a single place. Great..
You won't want to leave.
Oh, you're in Canada. I just got back to China yesterday.
Curious if you have heard about the Byteball airdrop to all Steemians yet. Based on your rep, you'll get $80 worth of tokens - $40 liquid, and $40 locked up for one year. Let me know if you haven't claimed them yet and I can send you a guide.
@solarguy this canada market is looking good than other markets.. here as you told shopkeepers are also too much good .. will surely visit here once
Looks like a great farmers market. Lots of vendors and traffic for a town of that size.
What a sweet moment with your grandma. I can see she's very energetic for her age. She reminds me of my landlady here, she's also 80+ but still very healthy. Your granny is lucky to have a helpful grandson =) I only had moments with my grandparents when I was a kid. Missing those days too.
That's a great market place that almost has everything you need in the household, fresh veggies and seafoods and that live music is exceptional.
Looking forward to that goat show! =)
