Happy New Year 2075 BS : It's New Year in Nepal

That's right its New year 2075 according to Nepali Calender. Nepal uses Lunar calendar for religious and festival purposes. Nepali New year is celebrated with parades, feast and family reunions. In Nepal we get public holiday on this day. People go to parks, outings and picnics in various parts of Nepal. Colorful decorations and balloons , street dances, concerts, and lots of shows are quite common on this day. The street is filled with food stalls. Gifts and greetings are exchanged during this day.

The Places to Be

Streets of Kathmandu: You'd be amazed by the amount of crowds. Street festivals and stalls are quite common. Lots of discounts and offers are provided at shops.

Bhaktapur: Bhaktapur celebrated this festival the most. Lots of places have unique cultures. You will see a gigantic chariot bearing the “god Bhairab” being pulled through town by dozens of villagers. They then engage in a festive tug of war, wherein the “east side” and “west side” residents compete.
