THE CITY OF IF

Yesterday is gone, today is what we have, let's utilize it.
If, is a word, it connotes probability. The English dictionary defines it as follows:
Supposing that, assuming that, in the circumstances that; used to introduce a condition or choice.
Supposing that; used with past subjunctive indicating that the condition is not fulfilled.
One can conclude from the above definition that if, is built on fantasies.
The last time I visit the city of If, I found it to be a home of regrets lamentation, gnashing of teeth, tears and sorrow.
We must have sometimes in our lives visit the city too, but for different reason. Have you had any reason to regret or wish you had done something or taken an action? That is the city of if, it is not a cool place to be.
There have been sometime in my life when I regret, blame myself and the people around me. Do you know what happened to be then? I stopped growing. Yes we are human, we are fallible, we are programmed to make mistakes.
In the city of if, is retrogression. Focusing your life on past event and deeds is not propelling you but repelling your progress and belief of yourself and life in to to. When you keep reminicising the good old days how do you appreciate the better and the best days ahead of you.
I knew a good numbers of men and women who fell down flat and never stood on their feet till death did the needful. I also knew many who overcame their setbacks and gave an astounding comeback. Attitude matters a lot.
In the city of if, the general languages are as follows:
1. If I could have all the money in the world.
If I had listened to my parent.
If I had heed to advise.
If I had given it my best.
If I had known.
If i could turn back the hand of time.
If I were you.
The list continues like the trousers of the Lord chancery.
The city of if, is a place of illusion; wake up. Yesterday is gone, you can never get it, today is what you have, utilize it; tomorrow is what you can aim and plan towards.
This done not mean the past should be destroy in any way, thanks for sharing

If may be a city of regrets but it can also be a city of good thoughts that yields progress. Most plans starts with "if". If i leave the house, i should find food to eat etc. If is not always a regret
But some made the city a place to reside for life. They fell but never stood back on their feet.
It is certainly a hold back, stop a person in their tracks, do not allow them to pass go kind of lamentation. If they can accept their past, if they can move past the past regrets, if they could see worrying over what has already come to pass, then they could move forward, retake control of their life, to be able to glance forward and see the possibilities before their very eyes, and not dream if it could happen but dream it is does and will happen.

Yeah worrying about the past will blind one to what the future has to offer. There will always be regrets but we don't have to focus on them. We can achieve more by focusing on tomorrow.
