Happy Eid al-Adha to all my Muslim steemit friends

Today is a day to celebrate Eid al-Adha for Muslims Community worldwide. In Islamic lunar calendar, Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah.

Eid al-Adha also called in English term as "Sacrifice Feast". It honours to willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obidience to Allah's command. But, before he sacrificed his son Allah intervened by sending his angle Jibril who than put a ram in his son's place.

Eid al-Adha begins with prayer of two raka'ats followed by Khutbah. Many Muslims also wear new clothes, visit family members and friends establishing Silaturrahim (friendship, brotherhood).

In commemoration of Eid al-Adha a cattle (like goat, cow, camel) is sacrificed and devided into three parts, the family retains one third of the share and another thirs is given to relatives, friends and neighbors, and the remaining third is given to the poor and orphants. Eid sacrifice may take place until sunset on the 13th day of Dhul Hijjah.

In place such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, Eid al-Adha marked as a public holiday.
