Jhapa or Biratnagar

Jhapa is a Terai district in Mechi zone of south-eastern Nepal. Under the new federal division, the district lies in Province No. 1. The latest official data, 2011 Nepal Census, puts the total population of the district at 812,650 out of which is my best friend referred to as Jhapa as he claims that to be his birth place. We have been friend since 7 years which was noted to me facebook, an initiative lunched to let know how long one has been friends with each other. But we were friends long before we were friends in face book. I guess till this date its been more than 9 years since we knew each other.

Last year in 2016, another dear and our common friend decided to get married due to pressure from his younger who was looking to get married. Since older one has to be married first as he was born first is a common view to get married before brothers or sisters in Nepal. Whatever, I got a chance to meet my dear friend Jhapa on the occasion of the ceremony.

The day before marriage I arrived at Jhapa, giving me a chance to meet my dear friend whom I have known since past 9 years. I called him and arranged meeting with him at a well known and most hygienic restaurant of Jhapa, Yeti Hotel. I asked if I could stay over night at his place, he welcomed me to his home. It was a honor to me to get myself invited at his place to stay. We took Safari, a local transportation, to his place. After 2 hour drive from Jhapa, we arrived to his place. I told him, its a long ride to your place from Jhapa, does this place lie also lie in Jhapa? To which he replied, " No! this is Biratnagar".

Since then I have been avoiding him because I have a doubt in our friendship. The reason for my doubt is that it's been 9 years that we have been friend, not only friend but really a close friend, to which I like to name him as my best friend, I don't know what his real name is? Furthermore, I knew him as Jhapa, but he is not even from Jhapa, he is from Biratnagar!!! Do I really even know this guy whom I refer to as my best friend? Is he Jhapa or Biratnagar?

P.S. The younger brother who was eager to get married and got his brother to get married is now single cause his wife left him the day after his marriage, he didn't even get to consummate his marriage despite this much effort. I think he is going to die as a VIRGIN!
