Good morning, amphibious friends!

in #life6 years ago

The birds are singing sweetly this morning. Before sunrise, when the chirps were just beginning, KID1 was outside winding his way through the woods to the pond where he does his best thinking. It is there where he plots the stories he writes and sometimes makes discoveries. This morning, he found a frog.

I was coaxing his sisters to get out of bed and dressed when he rushed up the stairs to show us Frogget. The little amphibian kept leaping from KID1’s hands, and we all laughed as KID1 recaptured it to keep it safe from his curious dog.

And then there was getting a clear picture of the little creature so we can look it up in our book after returning it to the pond. That proved tricky as KID1 was literally jittering with excitement, but we managed a few good shots. Off the frog went home (this time with Littlest Sister in tow).

I readied breakfast, two kids played outside, one settled into a good book and the birds continued singing.

Two days ago there was snow on the ground. The daffodils still shine brightly through the fall, but the air was frigid and we were all bundled up. This morning it’s shorts and spring dresses and tank tops. Joyful animals outside and in.

What does your morning look like?

Sort:

I have rain for the spring flowers who will have to hold up during our forecasted snow storm this weekend.

I will have snow covered Iris Sunday. Ho-hum. Spring in Wisconsin.

We may have the same on Monday. We are expecting rain and for the temp to drop to 30. Indiana. I would love for Spring to truly settle her mantle on us.

Seems like a small world in Steemit sometimes for the number of members! You are in Indiana, we are in Wisconsin, grew up in Ohio, my parents lived in Ft. Wayne for awhile.

You are familiar with the weather. Bummer!

Have found another follower in Indiana, one in Chicago and as close as Milwaukee! Little Steemit world. :)

Thank you for commenting.

My morning has included dragging my offspring out of bed (one of them physically), driving to school, taking pictures of the sky, and finally making coffee.

Oh dear. I have one (the middle child) who goes boneless at school time. We've been carrying her to the car and buckling her in. And it isn't just physically draining. It saps at your mind.

Yes. So many days I'm just like, "miss school! I don't care anymore!" but then the mom genes kick in, and I'm dragging people to the car. sigh

That frog you son is holding is very cute. Is he going to play with? @shawnamawna.

He played with it a bit and then returned it to where he found it. It was a very excited frog! It almost found its way under our couch.
