I've never thought about it this way! I always thought about confidence as when you are sure of your own personal capacity and don't depend on other factors. But it is true, we can't control everything. We can't even control which h family we are born in. So many things are already decided for us. Confidence in such outside forces and being secure although being unsure of what the future holds, is another aspect of confidence which we should have.
