Tesla Proposing $2.6 Billion Pay To Elon Musk @senseicat
Tesla is proposing to give CEO Elon Musk $2.6 billion dollars amortized in a 10 year period. Shareholders in particular argue that it is too lucrative for Musk, dilutive to shareholders, and does not require exceptional performance to earn this amount of money.
Tesla's proposal ties Musk's salary to benchmarks like increasing the company's current market value from $56 billion to $650 billion within the 10 year period.
Ultimately, the goal is to provide incentive for Musk to stay Tesla's top executive, or in an alternate chief position for years to come.
Each vesting period within the 10 years require benchmarks to be met in order to receive this extraordinary compensation.
If Musk achieves these lofty goals, he will own over 28% of Tesla.
Shares of Tesla has increased over 33% in the past year so the company is on an awesome trajectory.

I don’t think Tesla would be successful without Elon. If he left they would be screwed inside of 6 months. He is a hype master and able to make cash appear like few of his contemporary peers. Hes also had enough vision to get a good portion of his costs covered by government dollars that are consistent and unlikely to dry up. I would expect if he ever quit that Tesla stock would plunge at least 25%. I’m not sold on Tesla as a car brand but Elon makes it happen. He deserve more!
Elon is successful because he fires the lowest 10% performing workers every year. That philosophy works the first couple years, but eventually a company runs out of low performers when this continues. This turns into an environment of workaholics always worrying about loosing their job. I’m glad I don’t work there.
Socky I really did not know that about Elon. The lowest 10% get fired!! Who in there right mind would want to work in such an environment.Constant pressure due to lack of job security. There is low performers in all work places but there needs to be an action plan in place. The reasons of low performers are not always known to the employer.Very unfair.Gosh I defo would never work there.Pressure cooker madness!
That is a ridiculous amount of money. But who are we to say whether someone is intitled to it.It is mad to me but i am living a different world compared to these top executives.Could you imagine if Nikola Tesla was alive today he would be amazed with his legacy and the fortune his initial ideas have created. For me the rich are super rich. The poor are incredibly poor. There is no balance.I get fustrated when here in the UK you have nurses, police and firefighters on pittance. They risk there lives aswell as ridiculous hours for what? Then you have footballers and top execs on pay you couldnt even comprehend. So it really annoys me as his wage would save a country in poverty. But the question we should be asking is If we were in his position would we accept the deal. What would you do with the money.I know what I would do!
It is an insane amount of money. It is a dilemma with that kind of money. Do you focus on feeding the poor and philanthropy instead of creating jobs and improving economic growth? Do you put all your energy into growing the economy and building an empire that changes the world? Do you simply quit and live a life of luxury? Most people would take the first or last option, but I’m sure I know what Elon would pick.
It is sooo true. There are so many ways in which you could help the population whether directly or indirectly. If you could combine 1 & 2 it would be ideal.Initially helping the poor with the basic requirements to give them energy and hope. Then implementing a strategy to boost economy by creating jobs and provide training. This would eventually lead to eradication of poverty. You can provide food and water for the poor. When it runs out they are back in same position. If you provide them with tools to grow there own crops and build water system they can actually flourish.I think i know what Elon would choose too.
this is a very interesting story, very good @senseicat

your post all so good. i like it @senseicat
I think contract is already signed. Musk will receive a massive amount of money but just if he delivers, and one of the conditions of the contract if for the market cap of the company to grow 300% I think so!
