Spiritual Growth
Traditionally, spirituality referred to a religious process of re-formation which "aims to recover the original shape of man," oriented at "the image of God" exemplified by the Torah, Christ Jesus, Buddha, Muhammad and others. In modern times the emphasis is on subjective experience of a sacred dimension and the "deepest values and meanings by which people live, usually in a context separate from organized religious institutions.Modern spirituality may include a belief in a supernatural realm, personal growth, a quest for an ultimate/sacred meaning, religious experience,or an encounter with one's own "inner dimension". spirituality is a name given to matters of the spirit. These can be any kind of meaningful personal activity or peaceful experience. There is not one agreed upon way to explain what happens. It is a concept so people can see and understand it in different ways. Some people believe spirituality is a part of religion. Others who are not religious, still seek and have spiritual experiences.
The meaning of spirituality has developed and expanded over time,The term "spirituality" originally developed within early Christianity, referring to a life oriented toward the Holy Spirit of God "Almighty" During late medieval times the meaning broadened to include mental aspects of life, while in modern times the term both spread to other religious traditions and broadened to refer to a wider range of experience, including a range of esoteric traditions. How do we know that there is a spiritual realm? If we cannot see it, should we believe in it? Many believers and unbelievers today do not want to “deal” with a world we cannot see when the world we do see is hard enough to “deal” with. Before we can discuss the spiritual battle, we have to believe in the spiritual realm. We have a tendency to act like a two year old child who closes her eyes and places a blanket over her head, really believing that no one can see her because she cannot see them. Just because we cannot see the spiritual realm does not mean it is not there. Keith Green, a Christian song writer, wrote, “I [Satan] used to have to sneak around. But now they just open their doors. No one’s looking for my tricks because no one believes in me any more.” However, if we choose to ignore or not believe in the spiritual realm, we will find ourselves confused, frustrated, and quenching the peace that God has promised to each of us. The best defense is a strong offense. Just educating ourselves about the spiritual realm is half the fight and God gives us everything else we need to be victorious with the other half.
In conclusion Christean and Muslim believe that if someone is not strong enough in the spirit of God he or she will be driven to unknown destination by the spirit we don't see but believe to exists.
