The One Thing You Should Absolutely NOT Do In Life

Do you know why we are, where we are today? By ‘we’ I mean the human race. In the beginning, we were all cave dwellers, living animal-like lives i.e. hunting, gathering, reproducing and so on.

Slowly we began doing more and started getting differentiated from the other species of the world and gradually over hundreds of thousands of years, we are now at a point where we can venture out of the planet itself and out into the cosmos.

So, what is that one thing that has led us here after such a long, long journey during which we have achieved so many wonders that are nothing less than magic and are set to achieve even more in the coming future?

The answer to that is: our human nature of never settling. That’s correct. We humans are natural born seekers and curiosity is as present in us as the cells in our body.

Never Settle In Life

If you never settle in life, I’m pretty sure that somehow, ultimately you will end up where you want to or need to. The thing is, we all have our own dreams and aspirations and have this image in our heads about who/what we want to become.

Settling down for anything less than that is a disservice to yourself and even on all the people that believe in you and count on you. People say that a rolling stone gathers no moss but I beg to differ, I say roll around to your heart’s content because only a rolling stone can reach places.

Even if we are on a path of our own choosing and we are doing what we love, even then we should never settle down. The world keeps on evolving and it is our duty to do the same.

Don’t be scared by this fact. In fact, look within and you will find comfort because there is something inside all of us human beings that continuously wants to expand, that naturally hates any boundaries and wants to keep reaching new heights. Make this your strength and you will be unstoppable!

A Few Words of Wisdom

You know how you value something so much before you have it and how after you’ve got it, its value suddenly becomes a lot less? I’ll give you an example. Say, you dreamed about owning that new smartphone for so long and then you are finally able to buy it.

After a few months of usage, I’m sure that, that smartphone won’t hold the same value as it used to once. People say that’s a fault of our human nature but I think differently.

I think that it is OK to feel like that. It is our innate nature to keep looking for better things, to want to experience newer things in life. Is that not the reason why we are developing so fast nowadays?

This not only applies to materialistic things but to almost all dimensions of life. Be it work, or personal life, experiences or dreams, abilities or achievements, we have this inbuilt characteristic to always want more, and that’s where our edge lies.

My Inspiration To Never Settle In Life

Ok, so this might sound childish and completely not serious but trust me I’m not joking. There are several people I look up to for inspiration and motivating myself to keep moving forward.

But perhaps no one has had a greater impact on my psyche than something that doesn’t even exist. My inspiration for never settling in life is a cartoon character called Goku, from the anime series Dragon Ball Z.

If you have watched the anime you would immediately understand what I mean. If not, let me just tell you that he is a human looking alien being that lands of planet Earth and becomes a martial art master.

Thanks to the abilities that are special to his species, he is able to become stronger and stronger and is able to reach newer power levels all the time defeating the strongest of evil enemies and saving Earth numerous times.

He finally becomes one of the strongest fighters in the whole universe and yet he is humble and down to Earth and his story, although a fictional one, is my inspiration to never settle in my life too.

You can never settle in life, not till you find all those dragon Balls. When you settle that's basically the lazy mans way of quitting. Although Goko is a fictional character that is a great example. I saw Goko get beat, destroyed, and pummelled any person would have quit. Goko's perseverance his drive would not let a loss keep him down. He never settled for less, he got back up and trained till he was the best and got what he wanted. If we all have Goko's mindset to never settle keep going, nothing is stopping you or me. Even when things get hard, you want to quit, take the easy way out remember winners don't settle. We are all winners, it's all in your mindset an will to get better at what we do. Sometimes we might not always win but if you put your all in, worked hard, never settle an still lose; you hold your head high no matter what. You gave it your all keep going and like my friend above says keep going never settle! Dope Post with the DBZ reference.🙏🙏

wow This is probably the best comment I have read today. I completely and utterly agree with you. Watching Goku stand up again and again no matter how much he was crushed ignited something within me and during tough times when the chatter in my mind doesn't stop, I stop for a few hours and watch some of the episodes of Dragon ball z and get reminded of what I have to do. :)

Thanks man, good post need amazing comments🙏🙏 I could really relate to to this because my childhood involved mostly DBZ, X men, an ninja turtles and none of those guys quit easily. Ya man no matter what happens or what life throws at you keep your head up and keep going. Just think about the freeza saga, every time they thought they had beaten Freeza he got stronger an evolved. Goko had to go through serious training everytime Freeza got stronger. That's just like the life we live in, we are going to face obstacles and problems that's just natural. It's how we deal with them that makes us stronger. You can either tuck your tail and run, or be like Goko train harder then face your problems head on. Never settle keep going brother. I hope this could motivate you a little. Bless 🙏🙏

Thank you very much for sharing with us your thoughts! I find them really inspiring and I want to give back something, so I will share a thought that is stuck in my head - "You are exactly where you need to be!"..

I think when people realize that and start seeing themselves and the strengths they have, it makes them unstoppable.. The curiosity and the desire to continue developing yourself is something that even children do effortlessly, but at some point we decide we are not good enough and stop showing what we have, we try to hide our greatness..... I don't find it childish that you found such an inspiration in Goku. I haven't watched it, but I know that feeling, as I also have so many memories about watching cartoons and feeling inspired and running around all the time afterwards... I truly believe you like it so much, because deep in yourself you know you are nothing less and if you are brave enough you can share that power with the world!

Keep writing that kind of posts! I really appreciate you shared it with us :)

This was really a thoughtful comment and it really made me feel more motivated to keep writing posts like these. Thanks!! :)

Great message. I totally agree. Never settle. Go after your passion and never get frustrated and give up. You know every living entity (dog, tree, plants, insects, etc) reaches and maximizes their potential , but only humans don't reach their potential . How many people do we know and love that "just settle" and never really reach their true potential and therefore cheating themselves and cheating us for not sharing the unique talents they have to offer to the world. Humans have the power to choose : To settle or to reach their max potential.

Exactly!! Human potential knows no bounds and it is a shame to see so much of it go to waste. Imagine if we all gave our 100% each day every day! The world would definitely change for the better!

Our innate nature of never settling does make great sense in an evolutionary perspective. More success = higher survival chances!

Today this very same trait is driving humanity to new heights - literally since next step might be inhabiting Mars. This nature is leading us to new innovations that are curing diseases, prolonging lifespans, better living conditions and being able to communicate real time (almost) with people on the other side of the world!

Amazing times ahead of us all, all because of our innate nature of never settling!

Yes, that's what I think too and mentioned in the article as well. Basically we are hardwired to ensure our survival and we have several traits that see to it. Never settling, is one of them. Can't wait for the next leg of humanity's progress to the cosmos :)

Yes we live in a very exciting moment of human existence right now! I sense that humanity is about to take another great leap in our evolution after about 15 years with a little less innovation than expected.

I believe we are heading towards greater times, but again I might just be overly excited and too optimstic :) What do you guys think?

That is correct. Till 2050, we will have achieved so much stuff that we consider science fiction today. Interesting times for sure :)

Dude ! Hats off
You bring such unique thought out here
