Is religious education important for your child?

I guess you have intended ‘closeness with God’ here with the term ‘religious education’. My answer is going to be centered around that anticipation. Before that i would like to analyze the very context that would have led you ask such a question.

In today’s hectic world, people strongly believe that they are gradually becoming more of machines and less of humans. And this realization pushes them to think about their next generations and they don’t want the generation next to be just like them. Rather they want them to be the people possessing more humanity, a trait the current generation think they lack!

Now the question. Is the religious education really needed to teach them more of humanity and all such good values?? Think twice. Let’s see where do you reach.

The answer from my part is a strong NO.

I would say that teach them rather to believe in themselves. Teach them to act based on reality rather than based on writings.

All religious books are piles of myths written by people lived many centuries ago. Those scriptures don’t seem to fit 21st century, which is obvious. We need brand new values that fit the current world. It is high time we must get rid of glitches from the past.

Religious education emphasize on the ancient knowledge and old values. I agree with the fact that most of it is comprehensible and hold true to this date. But to get to know about humane values, religion is not necessary.

Making your children walk through real life experiences and teaching them to act accordingly is important. Not the religious education which in most part is absurd!

Sort:

This is so stupid! Check out Gerald Gardner's Book of Shadows. This book was not written centuries ago. Why do you assume that all religious books were written by people who lived centuries ago? You are such a moron. You litter Steemit with nonsense.

Now I understand why I got downvoted so many times. It's because of trying to educate imbeciles like you. In a way you enriched me by reminding me that.

Bible and Quran were written in 20th century? I'm talking about the so called holy books and the religions where there is a presence of God.

Fuck the God.

And I respect your opinion and happy to give my 100% upvote to your comment. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello sir,

My personal opinion, I really do not agree to your "No" ☺️
Anything constructive is a "Yes". Many religious practices are scientifically backed. It may be ringing the bell in temple, the buildings of a religious place, act of celebrating festivals. They would definitely add values to a human life.

Bro, don't call me 'sir'.

Yes, there are a lot of personal opinions. Mine is a personal opinion as an atheist. I can put forth a number of scientific explanations for why I turn down such practices!

It's fine. Let's agree to disagree on this!

☺️☺️ agree 100%
