Learning to say "THANK YOU"
Sometimes little decisions can change your life forever. Those little things you think are nothing Could be the important requirement for you to get to the next level of success.
We are in a competitive world where millions of students graduate with good results, good communication skills, good looks etc. What will determine where your certificate or skills get you in your carrier and how successfully you get is your attitude.
Attitude is that quality that makes you accepted even when your fellow applicant has the same or better results than you do.
Attitude is that inner beauty that makes people overlook your physical appearance and make efforts to help you look like the "you" on the inside.
I remember a guy I met when I newly started playing keyboard. This guy came to me with his friend to learn how to play the keyboard, I told them what it would cost them, they paid and the classes started.
Few weeks into the class, I noticed that the taller friend would come to me after the class and say thank you to me for accepting to teach them, Sometimes he'll come early to clean the keyboard and get the room ready for class. I was so curious. That attitude made me give him all the secrets I knew then
This guy was so humble and kind. the other guy was not rude, he was just acting like a normal student, after all, he paid for the class.
But something caught my attention about the taller friend, he was always happy, you'll hardly catch him unhappy.
Grateful people are happy people
His kind nature created an atmosphere of peace around and kept it far from trouble.
There are some things that your certificate cannot do for you that your attitude can.
When I was 21, I consciously wrote out some good habits I was going to work on. I knew success ain't all about certificates from school. there is more to success than good results. If you have the best certificate and the worst attitude, no one will be able to work with you.
One of the habits I wrote down was the habit to say " thank you" to people who have impacted my life directly or indirectly. As little as those two words are, they could change your life forever.
Do you know some people forget to say " thank you" when they receive help from? Not because they just want to be ungrateful, but because they've not practiced it long enough for it to become a part of them.
I remembered a time in school when after a long lecture, I ran towards my lecturer and he quickly noticed that I was running towards him and turned and gave me a look like "who's this dumb student that is coming to ask another question", when I got to him, I just told him
sir I just wanted to say thank you for the lecture, I was reading about fibonnacci series at home, but your lecture really explained it well. Thank you.
African lecturers are not usually nice, I was expecting him to say something nasty or just ignore me, but he didn't, rather he told me to visit him whenever I have any question and guess what,? I had an A in that course.
Do you say thank you to the taxi driver after you get your change? Do you say "thank you" when people on steemit resteem your post? Do you say "thank you" after an interview or are you waiting to say thank you when you get the employment?
Your life should get the point where you feel really guilty when you forget to say "thank you"?
You should realize that "thank you" matters to the person you say it you, it can get you more favor or get more reward to you and make the person you're saying "thank you" to see you as a humble person, which could be true.
most humble people are grateful people
Maybe The reason your business is not doing well is that you don't use those two golden words "thank you" with your customers.
Saying "thank you" has an attitude to it, there is a way to say thank you and it will be worthless to the person you are saying it to.
For you on Steemit, you've made some good extra box from steemit, just take some SBD or STEEM compose a good simple text and send them (the money and the text) to the person that brought you to Steemit.
If the person is in your neighborhood, just pay a visit some goodies.
You may say
he just brought me to steemit and left me
Well, at least he brought you. Most people would have kept the information to themselves.
When you're saying "thank you" to someone physically, be sure to make eye contact, keep a smiling face on, speak in a friendly voice and tell that person how their help or the little piece of information they gave you has been of great help to you today.
Attitude produces humility ~ Orrin Woodward
A thankful heart is the mother of all other virtues
Be thankful you for what you have and you'll end up having more, ......~Donald Curtis
That is totally true! My mother always taught me to Say thank you to everyone!
When you use that word, you demostrate your good education and values! It is a kind gesture to thank somebody how did something to you!
The way we face live and our attitude will define our path, and the more we say thank you the more we will succeed!
It is Nice that somebody took his time to write a post to create consciente on people to start using the word thank you
THANK YOU @samstickkz for this post!! Have a nice day!!
Great lesson from your mom @erickyoussif
Yea.."Thank You" really means alot to some people.
I could remember when I and my colleagues played as a band at our instructors wedding ceremony. He was our music instructor back then in church and he single handedly taught five of us how to play different set of instruments. We played his best song as a band on his wedding day as a mark of appreciation and this melted his heart.
Thank you could also be expressed in form of a nice gesture.
Wow, I can imagine.
What instrument do you play
I play the piano...
I have read about saying thank you to people, I've been told to say thank you to people even those who I may think don't deserve it. I have watched and listen to people say thank you to individuals for the minutest of reasons. Today you have served the Steemians the reminders you have backed up the bones of thank you with fleshly reasons to make accentuate its importance. The goodness of a word of thanks cannot be over emphasized. It changes not just the person who it is said to but the person who says it. Day by day I wish I can give more gratitude, even if that is the only thing I can give in life and that I don't wait for something to be substantial before showering gratitude for it. So thank you @samstickkz for helping a Steemian who in turn paid the good deed forward, thank you for your informative words that I learn from anytime I am opportuned to read them and thank you for reminding us all to say thank you🙂
Beautiful post with lots of positive meaning ....
I know it's difficult to show appreciation especially when others around us don't show appreciation for what we do for them... But the simple truth is that 'we can't follow the multitude and do what's ethically wrong'
Thanks @samstickkz
