Importance of dressing good

Before people even get to talk to you, they first judge you by the way you look. Most of the time these judgments are done unconsciously within seconds with just a glance. When the brain is done processing whether you look presentable to them or not, then they can either accept or reject you based on the result from the glance.

Looking good is very important. It's one of the ways of to get people to accept you. It sometimes gives you an edge over others, most especially during a job interview.

Sometimes some people mistake looking good for looking expensive and there is a big difference between them.

You can look good but not expensive and you can look good and expensive. I know some broke people who look more expensive than some rich folks.

No one has ever achieved financial success by constantly spending all they have in order to deceive others into believing they are rich.

Looking good should have a purpose. If you have no purpose for looking good, then you'll go broke.

Here are some good reasons why you should look good.

1. It helps you get a good FIRST IMPRESSION.

First impression counts. don't think it doesn't matter by saying "inner beauty is the main thing". Yes, it is but before they get to know that inner beauty, they'll have to pass from outside in.

I've seen people using that quote as an excuse not to dress well. But it's important to realize that beauty catches the attention while personality captures the heart. the attention first.

2. It helps boost self-confidence and attracts respect.

The way you dress is the way you'll be addressed. Dressing good always gives people this impression that you're responsible and reasonable.

Dressing sharp can also boost your confidence level when you step out. If you're going for a business talk and you're well dressed, it gives your new business partner the believe that you're worth their time and any price you propose could be accepted because they'll think you worth it.

Dressing well also gives your employer the belief you have value for yourself and that sense of having value for yourself could pass from you to the company through your office in the company.

3. It attracts the right people to you.

You'll always be the center of attention when you dress well. Good looking people always wanna be around good looking people. You'll hardly see a good looking girl walk with a less good girl. Sadly, that's just how the world is.

If you want to attract the right set of people to yourself then start dressing like the kinda people you want around you.

4. It keeps you safe from trouble

Few months ago I was coming back from a meeting and unfortunately for me that day, I intercept some guys running towards my direction and the police quickly surrounded all of us.

There I was, looking confused on the ground with these other guys. Of course, Nigerian police will do all the judgment there without court (I'm sure they'll get better).

One of the policemen quickly noticed a guy dressed differently in a suit and tie on the ground. He approached me and after some questioning, I was released.
