Enthusiasm Marries Excitement

This is yet another divergence from the field of Science and Tech. I feel we should continue our survey on other life's issues. We'll be looking at the blessedness of Enthusiasm.

I will like to reiterate the response of one of Nigerians most celebrated football coaches on the secrets behind his achievements. In 1996, when Nigerian Olympic football team (dream team iv) won the Olympic gold medal in Atlanta,  after beating Argentina in the finals, the head coach (Jo Bonfrère) was asked the secret behind this unparalleled feats,  his response was very simple: "Enthusiasm"

Even if you've lost anything, you've not lost everything until you've lost your enthusiasm. Because with enthusiasm, you'll rise and shine again.

One of my mentors once said:

No one is as bankrupt as a man who has lost his Enthusiasm - Dr. Taiwo Odukoya

We all know about Charles Swindoll, he made a remark many years ago about enthusiasm. He said:

Knowledge is important to the existence of life, but knowledge that has no enthusiasm is worse than a pool without water, a fire without air, and a "thank you" without a complimentary smile - Charles Swindoll {paraphrased by me}

So you see, you could have a very big dream, but it is only enthusiasm that will keep you going. As a matter of precision, enthusiasm gives "reason" to your dreams.

Enthusiasm is, more often than not, accompanied by a deep-seated excitement, a heart-borne happiness, joy unspeakable, and the knowing that you're on the pathway to the fulfillment of your dreams.

One very successful inventor was asked the secret behind his success, he answered:

When I wake up in the morning, I only have two decisions to make: it is either to be happy, or very happy

That means, he cannot but be happy; the situation notwithstanding.

You could be surprised why I reference people a lot. Well, the secrets of men are embedded in their stories. And you too cannot be a reference until you've reference others.

In rounding off, here are some quick tips to boost your enthusiasm:

• Do not wait to get a full support before you take the step. Take the step, and the support you need will meet you on the way.
• Go for knowledge. Knowledge empowers.
• Do not except much from people, so you won't be disappointed. Focus more on your own abilities.
