Yoga with samantha
Yoga used to be a part of every Indian's life once upon a time which was one of the reasons why they had a mental clarity. These peaceful and mind freeing practices were tied up with the religions they followed. Massive invasions by the Mongols, Turks and the British shattered and disintegrated their culture and unity. Something so pure was close to extinction.
Due to its value and significance, many foreigners including the Russians began to learn these disciplines of yoga. Very quickly, in just a matter of years, yoga began to spread to every corner of the world.
Why did yoga become popular? What does it do? Can yoga help me gain peace of mind?
There are many reasons why yoga is getting so prominent today. One thing is that it makes you realise some fundamental facts about oneself.
If you know how to do yoga right, it tells you everything about yourself. Not the fancy things that you think, but the real facts. Your mind is too misleading and distorted. Each day it says something different.
Think of yoga as a manual and a repair kit for your body if you know how to do yoga, you can your body. It tells you everything just the way it is, how it was and how it's going be.
Yoga is for everyone, one should definitely do yoga for at least an hour each day to drain away all the stress and worries so that you can think straight and focus on what really matters the most to you.
How to get started?
Before you get started with this I request you to, find yourself a peaceful and a quiet place where no one would bother you, I prefer My studio, the beach or my backyard, Pick what suits you the best. Keep away your phones or anything that would make you lose your focus.
Let's start with something very basic today. Drink a glass of water, staying hydrated is very important for a smooth flow of energy.
Few minutes of meditation is very much important before you start. As this is the first time for most of you I suggest you sit down with your legs folded. Grab your timer and set it to 10 minutes. Let the timer sound not be too harsh and ruin your flow.
Now close your eyes and inhale for 8 seconds and exhale for 6 seconds. Repeat this 3 times.
Now take a deep and when you exhale chant the OM mantra (OMMMMMMMMMMMM).
Observe your body feel the chill and the vibrations caused by this chant. Concentrate on the chant and the sound of air when you take a deep breath.Repeat the same till hearing the sound of your alarm.
DO NOT OPEN YOUR EYES.
Now with your eyes closed rub your hands against each other till you feel a little heat and place it on your eye for a few seconds. Now get back to your meditative posture and slooooowly open your eyes.
You feel very light and you feel so relieved.
