Side Hustling Ep. 68: This Insanely Profitable POD Business Earned Over $400,000

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Hey guys, Happy Tuesday. We're back with Side Hustle Tuesdays episode 68 of our Side Hustle Series.

Today's Side Hustle Story is a fun one, it's a story of a guy who accidentally created a very successful and very profitable business.

Today's side hustler Mike has always been very Entrepreneurial, he launched his first eBay business at age 12. Over the years he's worked jobs as well as done some freelance and Entrepreneurial stuff. A couple years back after graduating from college with a degree in Marketing Mike landed a job with Viral Style as a brand and marketing manager. Viral Style is a print on demand service similar to TeeSpring that sells tee shirts through crowdselling campaigns.

Seeing as how MIke's job was to get artists and designers using Viral Style he figured he ought to give Viral Style and POD as a whole a try to see what it was all about and what experiences these designers were having on the platforms. He did this in an effort to do a better job at his day job, never intending to actually make any money doing it.

This business turned into a success completely by accident. Soon after setting up POD stores across several platforms, to Mike's surprise orders started flowing in. He soon made over $10,000 in a single month, and it wasn't just a one off fluke, the sales continued to come.

Before he knew it Mike was making more with his POD business than he was at his day job. To date MIke has made over $400,000 and he just recently hired his first employee. Mike's revenue target for 2018 is to do a million Dollars in sales.

thanks my man. Very interesting story with this episode of #sidehustletuesday.
I did Teespring a couple of years ago. Sold some shirts on FB but never could hit a 'big lick'. And my costs ended up being higher than Revenue.

But this guy is rocking it. Nice

Yeah I see some peoples campaigns doing really well, I never had much luck on Teespring even when using Facebook ads and other methods to drive traffic there.

I stopped using them after ordering one of my own tee shirts one time. The shirt was a HORRIBLE quality hanes shirt and they had folded it prior to the ink drying so the shirt was stuck together and when I pulled it apart the design was super messed up. Decided I wouldn't be using them anymore after that.

Wow, this is really inspiring. Mike got such a zeal at a very tender age and was able to grow strong as he grows older. I picked a lesson from, every great men started small and then expanded

Yeah its always awesome when people get interested in entrepreneurship and business at a young age.

eBay is an awesome platform to income in whole world. I really like ebay.com and dropshiping.

Interesante historia, buen emprendedor, @rulesforrebels.
