Ponderosa School Demo Week 1
New Ponderosa Elementary
Built next to the old one we are tearing down
Monday morning I made a hole in the wall for access to begin demolition.
Roofing, insulation, drywall, everything except metal and concrete get hauled to the landfill in a 53' "Walking Floor" trailer.

This trailer can hold up to 110 cubic yards, but we are only loading it with 80 yards of demo on this job. It goes to the landfill where the dump fee is $100 per cubic yard. That's right each load costs $8000.00 to empty at the landfill. It pays to recycle!
Metal roofing and trusses get recycled.

I started this video showing the view inside the school where I made the access hole to start the demo process. A lot of changes in the first week.
Next Monday we will haul the last of the landfill demo, continue with metal recycling and start on concrete removal.
We have 2 more weeks to finish the project so ...Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned

That walking floor trailer is just too cool! I've never seen one of those before!
We also have a 53' trailer with a 4' wide belt down the middle that works similar. But we won't use it for material this rough. It unloads in half the time.
