Yes! I whole-heartedly agree that our world needs more vulnerability. We put up facades to show others that we have it all together, meanwhile life is a mess - we are a mess! Breaking down those walls of image is damn hard, but it brings so much life.

I'm a big fan of Brene Brown, who is a researcher, writer, and public speaker on issues of vulnerability, shame, and whole-heartedness. Watch this TED Talk - just 20 minutes of your time, but it opens up a whole new way of looking at your world.

It is true that we put on a demeanour to hide our insecurities and vulnerabilities but as you said there is real magic from opening up about our problems and hardships and from this we can learn to grow and be stronger as people.

What an excellent post, thought provoking and very human post.

I probably cling onto the idea that a man doesn't talk about stuff, apart from sport and maybe would batman beat Superman in a fight and that is possible wrong, sometimes we have to open up and share with other people.

I'm trying to get better and Steemit is definitely helping as I try to be a bit braver in what I share

I really enjoyed this read. Once again someone is confronting the need we have to share our life story with someone who can be trusted to help support us along the way. While also calling into question the social stereotypes that have led many people to seal away their true feelings from anyone. Boys are taught at an early age that they must be strong, silent, brave, unable to cry, to just suck it up, ect. they need to also be taught that it is OK to feel, to fear, to cry, to express your Love, ect... like I said. I really enjoyed this read. Thanks for posting.

Up voting, following and interested, because of that last picture.

Love it. Fantastic way to end a wonderful think.

I think because do not express their emotion or do not know how to in a healthy manor, unlike women, They tend to live shorter lives then women. I know that their are 100 other factors that play into their lifespan. However Women are more communicator s and that I believe that helps them. IT would be interesting to know if the feminine male (not to be mistaken with the gay may) lives longer than the alpha male. Of if there is a difference in type of females and their longevity. Great Post.

We tend to like putting on a presentation as though we are strong, confidence, secure, and have our shit all together. When the world is looking, we usually want to be on our game - ready to impress......

very true, we humans pretend to be living the dream when we are not actually at peace within.

This bit is very eye-opening and really resonated for me: "Sometimes our acts of vulnerability are a form of leadership, enabling others to open up and confront parts of themselves they've been struggling with."
Thanks :-)
There is great strength in the kind of leadership that entails being vulnerable and open.
