Damn you, was that total drivel!?

One of the most acclaimed actors in the fifties and sixties was Ingrid Bergman, and she once explained that what she would do is nothing, just be. Then viewers could just project all their own emotions straight onto her.

To be fair, you rarely do that. You generally take a stand about things you care about.

In fact, what you generally do is the exact opposite of drivel. Drivel is meaningless bullshit that sounds challenging.

What you do instead, is say something challenging, but in as non-confrontational way as possible.

That is, youallow people the peace of mind that drivel provides, while in fact smuggling in some challenging content.

In challenging the self-help books we're all addicted to, you're actually being quite challenging, though self-deprecatingly labeling your own post "drivel."
