Terminus - A tribute (original)

Where it all ends. My terminus. The end of fear. The turn of the page, the next event, dark and mysterious like a question spoken in the long cold night; a breath exhaled. A shoulder shrug to relieve the weight, drop of a hat, down an arm, caught in a hand. Shoulder of a thick woolen men's jacket, smells so like him I sigh, breathing it all in. The coarse facial hair defines his face, the features dignified beyond retort.
Of course, that's the first thing I'll do-I'll go and get myself a castle tower room with hanging drapes on every windowed wall so that they can come alive with the slightest breeze to make me believe someone is there, behind them, waiting to launch out and scare me. Get high. I say there is no such thing as too high. There is such a thing as not high enough.
The end of reality marks the beginning of fantasy. The realm of the fringe, harboring voyeurs; catching monkeys; escorting wanderers, we watch, from under the umbrella. You hold it so delicately for me, so light yet so firm and so tight just like I like. I can trust in you now like never ever ever...so lightly like angel's wings brushing just past your cheek. A heartbeat away from a Tom Hanks-Meg Ryan romantic comedy. The child trapped in the witches enchanted painting, doomed to exist in one plane, seeing only out until they fade away forever.
