We are all religious as the human being is transcendent, always looking to what is behind or further from the mere matter or metaphysical; (meta (after,beyond) - physical (matter, accessible via our 5 senses ).
Spirituality is the state of being reached when you transcend the matter, even if a little bit.
In short religion and spirituality are the goal, the finish line of evolution, thus not in conflict.
I really like what you said last, "..are the goal, the finish line of evolution.." I have never thought of it that way. Thank you for sharing definitely broadened my knowledge base.
