Hello everyone,

You know those tasks, projects, or just life, that burn from the inside out and that you've been wanting to achieve for ages, but seem to become insurmountable mountains every time you consider taking the plunge? Many of us recognize ourselves in this situation. And before we even get started, we say to ourselves: “Come on, let's just take a little break before getting started”. Before we know it, we're in a marathon of procrastination.

Who among us hasn't felt our mind overloaded, like an old computer with too many tabs open and incessant tasks? Those unstarted or half-started projects that exhaust us and drain our energy without producing anything tangible. Those repetitive postponements that drain us and prevent us from living life to the full. I know this feeling well, as I've been dealing with it myself for years.

Let's talk frankly, what is it that you've been wanting to accomplish, but haven't yet had the courage to get started? What are you afraid of? Failure? Taking a step forward? Taking action doesn't eliminate fear, but we can learn to manage it. Let's stop convincing ourselves that now isn't the right time and put off our projects until next week, next month or even next year. The right time is now.

The second trap is circular thinking, where we get lost in our thoughts and get discouraged by anticipating obstacles. Of course, there will be obstacles in our path, but most of them are the product of our imagination and anxiety. Focusing solely on possible obstacles keeps us in a vicious circle. It's time to change tactics, take charge and face up to these challenges, because stagnation is a very real nightmare.

The third point concerns childhood trauma and its impact on our inaction. It's true that trauma can leave scars and influence our behavior, but that doesn't mean we're condemned to stand still. Our mind is like a tool, and we can learn to direct it instead of letting it control us. We can intervene and change our thoughts and behaviors, little by little, at our own pace.

Don't wait to be motivated to act, because action is both the fruit and the motor of motivation. Start with small steps, even timid ones, and don't worry about the direction. The important thing is to move, not stand still. Action is also a source of healing, as it gives us a sense of satisfaction and pride, and encourages us to keep going.

If you're feeling anxious and don't know where to start, remember that it doesn't matter where you start. The most important thing is to get moving. Don't get overwhelmed by the idea of a big transformation, but focus on the small steps, like a marathon runner thinking about his first strides and the fresh morning air rather than the finish line.

Taking action also means accepting the discomfort of change. Instead of stepping out of your comfort zone, think about gradually expanding it. Change is uncomfortable, but the sacrifices are worth it. Life shouldn't decide for you. So, what's your next challenge?
