What is a Community Garden?

in #life6 years ago

Fresh food is good food, and the freshest food you can get is food you grow yourself. However, not everyone has space, where they live to grow anything. This is where community gardens enter the picture. A community garden is a plot of land, the size will vary, where a number of people come together to grow what they need.

My Aunt lives right in the middle of London Kensington and she has a great little community vegetable garden across the road from her apartment. Some beds are communal and some are personal. I think it’s a great idea, especially for people that live in apartments with no front or back garden.
She is on the top floor and she also grows Vegetables and flowers on her rooftop balcony. You have to climb out of the window to get out there!🙏

Community gardens are absolutely wonderful for so many reasons and offer such great benefits in more ways than one! Raised beds work the best in the climate I am in and I can certainly see how they would be more than useful in community gardens. Lovely picture!
