Quotes, Notes, and Women #32 - George Washington

in #life7 years ago

It is far better to be alone, than to be in bad company.
-George Washington

Remove toxic people from your life.

Your inner voice gives you enough negativity as it is. You don’t need any coming from those around you.

Every day you have toxic people in your life is another day taking unnecessary risk.

They will infect you. Their negativity will flow through your veins. Their bad habits will contaminate your disciplined mind. Their laziness will ruin your ambition.

Or don’t.

Stay there.

Besides, I’ll be too busy climbing to the top to notice your sorry ass succumbing to mediocrity.

Prove me wrong. I dare you.

Very wise :)

You seem to be under a lot of pressure

Tunnel vision

If your job is to motivate a team

you need a bigger skill set than

"you are toxic you are fired "

Presidents can be wrong too

You had me at "George Washington." :) I love history, and actually JUST wrote a biography of Washington's early life for a client last night, so he's on my mind. Washington was a wise man, and always working to better himself. We can all learn from him. He came back from some pretty colossal military failures in the British Army, before the Revolution, where he basically got a reputation for being an idiot when it came to military matters. He took those failures and learned from them, becoming a brilliant military strategist who was specifically requested by the Continental Congress to lead the colonial army. He then led us on to victory, and was rewarded for it by being offered the kingship of America. He turned it down, but did become our first president. Lesson learned....take your failures, learn from them, and keep going until you're a master at what you want to do.

I never knew this. Interesting!

Thank you for your comment. Followed :)

Thanks, @riskybiscuit. George Washington was a gentleman's gentleman, and a pretty inspiring person, once you know his background.
