HOW A IT PROFESSIONAL ENDED UP BEING A PHILANTHROPIST  & A HAPPY TEACHER

This is the story of "Why i chose TEACHING for the rest of my life!"

Have you heard of a Poor Philanthropist? I am. :)

Since i don't have a ton of money, i donate my time & life, here is how... ( and i am extremely happy doing it)

I have been working in IT for the last 18 years and became a techie along the way. Working from pay check to pay check money was never enough.

Although i received many awards as a good employee for achievements that made a ton of money for the company and gave me such awards in return with a little bit of money too some times!

As time went by it became imperative to do something part time to raise more money so i starting 'teaching people IT' and started a training company in singapore - Kore Infotech!

After so many years of working in the corporate it was clear that there was little value of doing a good job and a ton of value if i could please more people (something i was not naturally good at) , make them feel 'we are on a big mission and leave your problems to me, i will pilot the jet safely and if there is any mess, you can always blame me; while you can continue to sip coffee and plan the next disaster'.

Finally i got worn out of management performance appraisals, weekly meetings, monthly targets, yearly KPIs, the fear of losing job anytime, being told a few times a year you are great and other times all this shit happened because of your carelessness. I was fedup!

I started asking myself - "Is this what i want to do for the next 20 years of my life?" The answer was a big bold "Definitely Not". With continuous soul searching and asking the same few questions again and again to myself:

1. What are you absolutely good at?

2. What do you love to do? What can you do for the whole day, 12 hours a day and still feel fresh at the end of day? Makes you feel happy even if you are not paid anything for doing it?

3. In your entire life what have you done that people have appreciated greatly and told you that you are very good at this?

4. What is it that you have seen real awards in people's eyes and not fake letters, when have you made people laugh and cry - what are you born to deliver?

5. What is it that you can do much much better than other people naturally? You can do this without thinking, it comes naturally and beautifully.

After re-wording the questions and some deep thinking, certain answers were coming back repeatedly:

1. You can explain to people and they understand really well without much effort.

2. You are very good at programming. You love Tech!

3. You are very fast at learning new skills.

4. You can inspire people and lead them to your vision.

5. You are pretty good at motivating people and making them feel good.

6. You can remain very calm in disturbing situations and calmly explain others and make everyone understand in harmony.

7. You have amazing sense of humor, on the spot!

8. You are very comfortable with strangers and you can make them feel comfortable quickly.

9. You are adaptable and flexible as a person.

..... after couple of days i saw the same answers coming up.

and finally was my big big realization ....

"You Are Born To Be A Teacher"

Having realised this and moving job to job,

                                                                   finally i quit!

I went into full time teaching. When i found other institutes are not allowing me to 'create fun in class', 'modify the syllabus to suit my student needs', 'teach a few extra hours for free to slower students', 'improve stuff for the long run'

                                                                 - i quit again!

                                                                  (what a quitter i am??)

This time i started on my own to create a unique training company where all of the above would be possible. A place where teachers would teach for their passion and expertise on the topic, not for money! A place that the student can look forward to go again and again to learn new stuff - and Kore Infotech Training Centre was born in Singapore!

(That's me, in the silly green shirt, behind the lady in white top)

and more .....

A place where the young, the adults, the old everyone could come to learn whatever they needed to in Computers!

I made a goal, i would share my knowledge with 10,000 people, so that this knowledge would change their lives for the better, forever! Today thanks to god, i have completed 5700+ people already and the mission is ON! I am ON it! :)

Kore Infotech delivers more than 45 courses, big and small, from the absolute basic and trivial, to the very technical and stuff in online marketing, stock market investing and even crypto investing! We are one of the cheapest too, making it affordable to most people. We only think of 'teaching well' ; even if it doesn't make money for us!

I am so glad to have been walking on this path full time for the last 5 years, a dream that i ran on the part time for 8 years working weekends.

This is how crazy our course list looks today,

There is one problem though and that is ....

I haven't made a lot of money teaching or running this business though, partly because the costs of running a company in Singapore (or should i say everywhere on the planet) are pretty high!

Nevertheless, i make enough to survive every month, some month's are bad while others are good.

I am tremendously happy, more happy than those who own expensive cars, more happy than my friends having high paying jobs. I am quite satisfied.

Now i am working on the last problem to solve,

Yes making my first Million Dollars!

so that i can make a bigger difference, faster!

And we all know how hard it is to make your first million?

So let it take its own sweet time, i am in no hurry. Let it come to me, rather than me chasing him :>

That has been my journey, hope it inspires many of you to find and pursue your calling too! It is very rewarding on an emotional level and we will figure out how to make it very rewarding on the financial level too!

Until next time ....chao !!
