MUSIC YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO RIGHT NOW!! - #2
This is what I am listening to today and why.. hopefully you will find something good.
- Toxic - Britney Spears
Laugh all you want - this is one of the best pop songs I have ever heard. Grab a guitar and start with Am in Capo 4 to play along :)
2)Power of Love - Huey Lewis And The News
Think the 80s sucked? Me too. If you want to play a really cool acoustic cover - take another listen to this song...
3)Waltz for Debby - Bill Evans
If anyone makes me wish I could throw my piano out the window its Bill Evans. I love every digit on his hands. This song is a classic - if you dont know Bill Evans or anything about Jazz - this is a good place to start (takes a minute to kick in).
4)Burden in my hand - Chris Cornell
This is perhaps one of the most difficult songs I ever attempted to sing in its original key. He was born with an absolutely amazing instrument.
5)Pride and Joy - Stevie Ray Vaughn
If you like the blues - or if you want to hear what the blues at its absolute best sounds like - nobody could play like SRV. He was constantly innovating and experimenting (I read that every string was from a different set)... What set Stevie apart is his singing was superb and his digital dexterity was probably the best blues has ever seen (except maybe Jimi Hendrix).
I agree with you about "Toxic". Even though I'm about as far from a Britney Spears fan as one can get, I realised it was to my merit that I could recognise a good song when I heard it.
I wonder if you've heard the Armand van Helden remix of it:
Really good work all round, I thought.
She looked good back then ;) Terrible voice but man did she get to sing some catchy tunes..
I've heard a few covers of the tune - this one was definitely new to me. Really cool DJ remix - the distorted guitar sounds really nice.. I play this song every couple years on guitar - Capo 4 (Am, C/G. E7) (Am, C, F7, E7)....
Glad someone is reading these ;)
