Fuck, just wrote a big comment explaining what's been happening here for the last few weeks, and it didn't post. TL;DR - most of the community is abandoning Steem (google Justin Sun and Steemit) and moving to a new blockchain called Hive. 1 for 1 airdrop for steem to hive tokens. Steempeak will operate out of a new URL as well, but they haven't released that info yet.
