It's the effort that counts
Finals, school works, projects is finally over. We can't wait to play with summer anymore but we had no choice but to go to school even though everything is over and good. We are still obliged to go to school everyday unless it is declared that school days is over.
That was a normal day for everyone but not to Rhea. It's her birthday. She is the most talkative and energetic person among our group of friends. Before that day came everyone in our group except Rhea, of course, planned to surprise her on her special day. Everyone loved the idea of surprising her but money is our problem. We are a student still depending on our parent's financial support and we don't have money. Now everyone got panicked on how and what should we do to make her happy on her special day. We can't afford to buy a cake and even desserts. We don't have balloons or anything that we usually see during every birthday party.
Early in the morning we greeted her on messenger wished her and talked on some random stuff. But what made her sad during that day is that some of our friends didn't greet her, that was part of the plan of course. What made her more sad to the point that she cried is that only one of our friend went to school that was Jessel and the rest of us said that we have important matters to attend and with that we can't accompany her on her special day. Everyone has its own alibis. We pretended to apologized her and she said she understands. But the truth is we were staying at Sanrey's @davincibrown house. We planned to celebrate her birthday at Sanrey's house instead at school for us best-friends to have a quality time. While Jessel is accompanying Rhea, the rest of us prepared a simple snacks and ice cream. We arranged it in a creative way to make it look attractive.
When the snacks are ready we texted Jessel and told her to go to Sanrey's house together with Rhea. Jessel told Rhea that they will be having a movie marathon at Sanrey's place.
Rhea had no idea that we're preparing something for her. She only thought that they'll be having a movie marathon. When she was about to enter the door we lively sang her a happy birthday song which totally surprised her and @tears keep falling on her cheeks. But this time out of joy.
We're glad she appreciated it. Even though it's simple but what matters the most is the effort we put in it. Even though we lacked of financial aspects, it wasn't a hindrance for us to make her feel that she's special and important to us. We think of any possible way that we can considering our pocket's status. Something that is not costly but sincerely from the heart.
