The big mysteries of the history not resolved: the Atlantis: the fabulous island
It is the philosopher Platon who, the first one, evoked this mythical place that is the Atlantis in the 4th century before Christ. The one who is considered as the first one of the philosophers describes a gigantic island situated near the strait of Gilbraltar there which would have sheltered a prosperous civilization. This civilization would have disappeared in a mysterious cataclysm.
For some, the narrative of Platon is a simple legend, others believe that the existence of this fabulous island would be based on real facts and explain that he could involve the Greek baptized island Théra or Santorin, an island which would have been gobbled up by 1600 BC by enormous tsunamis.
