How To Stop People Pleasing Others
People pleasing is pleasing to everyone. It is a good thing to do for many reasons. It can be satisfying to be able to please another person. There are so many things that we find pleasure in doing or that others find enjoyable. This is what people pleasing means.
People-pleasing from the deepest sense is pleasing other people as well. It is also pleasing to you and placing others needs before your own in the least way possible. You value other people and their feelings more than your own in many ways. This gives you a unique place of self-awareness that will make you more aware of your behavior with others. When you are aware of this you will be able to use self-awareness to avoid being annoying and hurtful to others.
When you are pleasing people, you have the opportunity to show how important they are to you through times when they do something nice for you. It is important to remember that the self-worth of another is not everything that they think about themselves. It is not their body shape or size or who they like or what color they are. In fact many times other peoples bad feelings come from, how they think of themselves.
People-pleasing will also help you show how much you love yourself. When you are pleasing people you can show how important and special you are and you will build your self-worth even more. It is important to know that you have great qualities that other people notice and enjoy about you. When you focus on these things and you do things to help others they will notice this and be attracted to you. This can lead to building relationships that will lead to building self-esteem
If you feel like you need to become a people-pleaser in order to please another person then you may have some issues. You may be afraid of being pleasing and that it is a burden. In addition, you may feel like you are not good enough and that you do not measure up to the standards of someone else. When you know that you have these issues then you should make an effort to figure out how to correct them. This is an important skill for a successful people-pleaser.
A person with low self esteem might be afraid to express their feelings because they could result in someone else taking advantage of them. If you are in this type of situation then you should work to learn how to better deal with your feelings. You should start by avoiding all situations that can cause you to have low self esteem so that you do not become a people pleaser. Then you should figure out how to enjoy yourself so that you can lower your standards.
Some people choose to act as though they do not care about what other people think of them. They may pretend to like someone else's ideas or they may say mean things behind someone else's back. Although these types of people can be quite annoying, they should know that they can improve their behavior by thinking about how they are making others feel. They should realize that they do not have to act in a way that makes them appear like a jerk. They can improve their behavior until they stop people pleasing them. They will then know how to live a true life that includes true self expression.
Each person has their own needs. Sometimes they will need to know how to say yes and sometimes they will not. When they understand these basic principles then they will know how to keep themselves from being a people pleaser. Once they know how to say yes to themselves then they will be able to please others without having to resort to being manipulative.
