The Power Of Emotions
How to Transform Pain & Suffering into Creative Energy | Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche | Emotional Rescue
There have been several celebrity suicides lately and a few people may be thinking of commiting suicide right now. Please don't take your life, life does not stop when this body dies. The power of your life will continue on and the state of mind at death will influence your next life...
The advice given in this series can be used by anyone, you don't have to be a Buddhist or spiritual.
I thought this series of videos by Ponlop Rinpoche may be helpful for those of us who struggle with thoughts of suicide. I have felt hopeless, struggled with anxiety and panic attacks from time to time because of my past and health struggles. Because of my Buddhist training I've been able to deal with these feelings proactively. I thought that what I've learned may help others but rather than give advice I would let someone who has been trained from an early age to give advice.
miss you mom! @reddust
That's Buddhism for you. Taking you to the right path, Nirvana..
This could be very helpful for anyone.. Thanks for sharing @reddust
The first question I asked my 1st Buddhist teacher, a monk from Korea, what does right mean regarding The Noble Eightfold Path? That's when Sunim started giving me serious Buddhist philosophical doctrine to study 😁🙏
Rinpoche is a master, excellent teachings and very well-timed sharing of this information! Great post.
I hope to meet him someday, his teachings have helped me help my daughter during her difficult custody battle.
I love that he makes the all important distinction of "not rejecting the emotions, but the habit of the way we deal with them" this is KEY and so often "we" think we have to surpress the emotion which in fact causes more harm in the present and future.
This is something new and very great i have seen today very refreshing thoughts thanks for sharing it here with all of us. @reddust
Thank you @blazing, emotions aren't as easy to clean, you can't just pick them up and wash them like dirty clothes 😉🌀
@reddust,
until you shared this article I didn't even know about him. I will definitely check those videos.
"Because of my Buddhist training I've been able to deal with these feelings proactively. "
That's true! It's guiding us to live our lives as it is!
Thanks for sharing this great article!
Cheers~
I learned from meditation and study, I mistakened the labeling of things as my reality. That's like eating the paper label off a can of beans, mistaking it for the beans inside the can instead of opening the can and eating the beans!
Very interesting About emotional. Someone will be great if it can manage emotionally well. thank yo
Rinpoche has a series of videos on youtube addressing this subject. We all have emotions but in this society we get no instructions on how to deal with them correctly. I had to leave my culture to find these teachings. I hope they are helpful!
Of course I agree
Thought transformations :) Thanks for this @reddust . I'm checking the vids out now. I've heard of this person, an artist friend of mine used to go see him.
I haven't been able to take teachings from Rinpoche but I am very familiar with Dzogchen. He is a very well educated and caring person. I am of the Karma Kagyu lineage with teachers from Nyingma lineage same as Rinpoche and Dzogchen is my primary area of study within Vajrayana (Tibetan Buddhism).
Someday I would love to go to one of his weekend teachings and make a connection. With the help of my steemit earnings I will be able to travel all over the world and visit with my Buddhist teachers. I am so excited! Most of my teachers live in America and but they are from Tibet, Korea, and India.
Good evening @reddust, how are you?
@alol, I am doing very well. I took the day off from painting, I cleaned house and cooked and spent time with the grandkids.
How are you doing @alol?
I have class today at my school,,,, at now time for break
You are going to school or teaching classes and what kind of classes? Oh wait, you don' t have to answer in English, I will use a translator.
I teach physics lessons, at high school level, iam sorry with my laguange
I love reading about theoretical physics but don't understand the math. You are a kind person and a teacher, great combination. Your English is better than mine ;-))
Thanks...
We are all of us here on this plane of existence for a reason...or so I believe. I also believe I was more in tune with just what it was I came here for and why I chose the parents that I did.
As life goes on and our meanderings take us further from that portal from which we entered we easily become distracted by the things we encounter.
It's good to look inward, past the pain, the loves lost, our perceived needs and wants. Contemplation on what is most important to you can bring you back on your own particular "soul" path. And in doing so you just might find others on the same journey. These are not your teachers, nor are you theirs they are your contemporaries...and they seek the same solution to a particular piece of life's puzzle as do you. Together you are all one perspective.
If only we were all on the same path to solve the complete puzzle...yes/no?
Edit: I forgot to point out something I learned many years ago while struggling with some great loss...at least that's how it felt at the time. it's ok to look back...just don't stare too long...tomorrow is right in front of you
My path is the eightfold path and all of us are walking on the same path but not always together. There are people on the path called bodhisattvas take a vow to help sentient beings as long as there are sentient beings that need help. I took the vow but sometimes I want to backout and runaway. Then I catch my breath and settle down, keep steemin on! I love this comment <3
Hip-hop is something I've been taking in in small bites as of late. I read more than listened to the message you presented here to me. My backbone has always sung back at truth when I hear/feel it.
The expressions presented align with my own. I have no formal training/learning...I just be the best me I can be. Enemies are only people we have an opportunity to know better...strangers that really aren't so strange...after all.
