Turkish Weddings and Ehtereum as Wedding Present / TR Altta
So over the weekend I attended a wedding in Bodrum, Turkey. In Turkey, weddings are a big deal, they are usually crowded with family and loved ones and come with an open bar ;) If you have a close Turkish friend and have attended to a Turkish wedding already, I don't need to explain it in further detail. However if you have never been to one, I hope you get to enjoy one as soon as possible.
The wedding I attended was held in the venue below, and yes once the dinner was over, the wedding cake was cut, and after a fair amount of alcohol, there was some late night swimming. - maybe even some skinny dipping-
A classical gift to be presented in Turkish Weddings is Republic of Turkey Gold Coin. In all the weddings I have attended in my life I also gifted these gold coins, just because it is the norm. I personally see no utility in gold and don't really respect it as a valuable asset. Yes it is shiny, doesn't corrode and a decent conducter but shouldn't be the tool to back up fiat money. This year I broke my habit and gifted the bride and the groom a paperwallet with Ether in it instead of the gold coin. I believe in cryptocurrencies and I want to integrate it to my life more an more each day.
Ether is cooler than this gold coin.
So in the future weddings I also want to gift steem tokens, just waiting for a friend who has interest in writing and blogging to get married :D

Cumartesi günü Bodrum'da bir arkadaşımıın düğününe katıldım. Şu an bu yazıyı Türkçe okuyan herkes toplum olarak düğünleri ne kadar ciddiye aldığımızı bilir. Vazgeçilmez ve olmazsa olmaz düğün hediyemiz ise tabi ki Cumhuriyet altınıdır. Şu ana katıldığım her düğünde ben de hediye tercihimi altından yana kullandım.
İlk defa bu düğünde hediye seçimimi, geleceğine, altından fazla inandığım kripto para biriminden yana kullandım:D Alışkanlığımı kırarak paper wallet şeklinde ether hediye ettim.
