The Ultimate Summer Rooftop Celebration

Pergola on the Roof located in White City is currently West London’s hottest roof terrace bar/restaurant and an incredible venue for summer hangouts! I learned about it by coming out of Westfield’s one day from a shopping spree and saw a large gathering of people on the road opposite. They were all waiting to go in so I crossed over to get more info and the rest is history. Actually, Pergola on the Roof always appears to have massive queues outside the venue every time I pass there.

Being a huge fan of the roof top craze, I took a risk by booking my Birthday party there this year for a group of 28 of my friends! I am so glad I made that move as the place certainly did not disappoint!

As I mentioned, Pergola on the Roof is located just opposite the famous Westfield Shopping Centre near Shepherds Bush (on top of a car park actually, lol). The entrance is pretty small with flashing neon lights outside and of course the security consisting of two rather large guards. I did not take the lift but instead opted to walk up the stairs as I was attracted by their cool looking graffiti wall art. Really cool, right?

Before I knew it, I arrived at Level 16! Stepping out of the stairwell, I was stunned by the generously spacious environment in front of me, together with the sweet smell of grilled food.

Pergola itself was simply fantastic. I felt like I was in The Hamptons (which was the current theme being used. This changes every few months). We were surrounded by palm trees, washed white decking with beautifully furnished Mediterranean-inspired benches and plenty of roses. You could literally sit back and pretend you are visiting a whitewashed beach house on Long Island beside the ocean, mentally transported away from the concrete roof.

At the corners of the venue are four pop-up restaurants featuring delicious food offerings at competitive prices. They are: 8 Hoxton Square, Salt ‘n’ Sauce from Bonnie Gull, Breddos Tacos and old faithfuls Patty & Bun.

Apart from the main bar in the centre, there is also an additional one on the side near the “lounge” area. They have a selection of Rose, white and red wines available. Let’s not forget about the bubbly, eh? Drinks are reasonable with a bottle of Prosecco costing around £30. Pretty much what you would expect I hope.

There are approximately 600 comfortable seats scattered around the central area of Pergola making it a perfect place to chill out and socialise with friends.

I was a little worried about the weather given the fact that it was a rooftop event in London (Although they do have a Perspex covering for most of the seating area). After all, we are already in May and at that time the London weather was far from Summery with continued heavy rains and moody skies. And the idea of being outside 16 floors up seemed a little risky. However when the day finally arrived, it was a gorgeous sunny day! I could not have expecting a better day than this. I really got very lucky, lol.

The Portaloo toilet facilities were pretty basic however we must keep in mind it is a rooftop car park after all. I imagine this is probably the best they can manage for the time being.

The general atmosphere and feel of the place was relaxing and enjoyable. Can you imagine this vacant space next to the old BBC TV centre was transformed into a sun worshipper's paradise? What a magical transformation! The guys who put this thing together are real geniuses!

Such a simple idea but it works so well. If the weather holds up, you have the sunset, a variety of tasty wine, delicious food and great company. All you could want is here in Pergola on the roof!

This is a fantastic venue and I cannot recommend it highly enough. What an amazing place to visit with your friends and family for an atmospheric roller coaster of fun on the rooftop.
