Uniting The Virtual and The Real World

I think the biggest challenge for a person working with the cryptocurrency is to unite the virtual world with the real world. The most of older people and still young, do not clearly perceive the concept of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency.

The best way to bring these two worlds closer is through the feasible projects development and involve the sectors of society that need supply their primordial needs such as food, health and education. For our case, we decided to start our experiment by embarking on an educational project.

In my early years as a math graduate I had the privilege of participating in the creation of a university Institute for my Seventh-day Adventist Church. After having started his formal activities in the year 2000, I went to the realization of other personal projects of a political nature. But I have always been aware of the development of this Institute. And at this time when two circumstances converge, one favorable and the other unfavourable, the first is Steemit the second is the economic crisis of the country, it seems to me that it is the opportune and pertinent moment to give room to this initiative. Therefore, a team formed by 3 mentors of Promo-mentors, @arcabuzx, @kaizag and @rdelgadop, under the consent of Mr. @futurethinker, we are proceeding to present our proposal to this institute.

The Institute

This institute is located in the Nirgua municipality of the Yaracuy state, in the Western center of Venezuela, one hour from Valencia, another industrial capital of Venezuela, and offers 4 careers at the level of Technician (TSU): Informatics, Business Administration, personnel administration and initial education. In addition, on the campus of this college are installed the headquarters of the Adventist Theological Seminary of Venezuela and the Vocational Institute of Venezuela, which is the high school, primary education and initial education.

IUNAV is an educational institution run by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. As such, its educational philosophy is based on the harmonious development of the physical, mental and spiritual faculties of the individual, for that reason, within the university campus there are student dormitories, a university dining room, a bakery, a Graphic Arts Workshop, swimming pool, sports courts and attractive landscaping for student welfare. The professors of this college also reside within the Campus.

It was in this enclosure that we decided to make our first Meet Up counting on the support of Promo-mentors led by our great friend and colleague @futurethinker and also the help and assistance of @provenezuela and at this time we can say that the meeting was a total success.

The Proposal

Our presence in IUNAV was not only limited to inviting the people there, managers, teachers and students, to register at Steemit, but it was something else. Our goal is to make the IUNAV the first higher level educational institution to incorporate the STEEM as a form of current payment; In other words, students can pay their semester dues with STEEM or SBDs, and teachers can be paid with STEEM or SBDs, in addition to participating in the publishing platform generating cryptocurrency.

Being that IUNAV in itself is already a community of approximately 500 people within the Campus, it gives an advantage because they can create a series of activities that allow the growth of the network in an endogenous way, i.e. different kinds of contests.

Phase I

The first phase of this proposal consists in the realization of this MeetUp in order to motivate the management and teaching staff to register in Steemit. With this initiative both managers and teachers will begin to experience the satisfaction that comes from being in this wonderful and great network. Then comes the second phase.

Phase II

This stage comes with the realization of a MeetUp exclusively for the students. The date is scheduled for March 21st. At that time we will be giving a great conference in the main auditorium of the institution with at least about 300 students of the different careers that are dictated on this campus, as we have mentioned in Theology, Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Computer Science and Kindergarten Education. The accomplishment of this event will be supported by Promomentor and its leader @futurethinker and, of course @provenezuela.

Phase III

It consists of a business meeting to implement two things: first, to adapt the financial and administrative system so that payments can be made in STEEM and SBDs. Secondly, to study the possibility of installing a Witness within the campus to take advantage of the technological capacity of the institution.

The MeetUp

Focused on the proposal and the objective to follow we held the first MeetUp of Promomento and Proyecto Venezuela in IUNAV. The meeting was divided into three major segments. The first in two parts: a) A motivational reflection carried out by the mentor @rdelgadop who exposed the basic purpose of the visit: motivate them to see the world from the Steemit optics; b) immediately, the nature and concept of the Steemit network were explained in social and technological terms.

The second segment, presented by the Mentor @kaizag explained the registration process in the Steemit network. Step by step, this engineer described this critical and specific point of Steemit. Besides, she also explained how to set up the user profile. Then to finish this section explained the steemit rewards scheme.

The third and final, masterfully dictated by the mentor @arcabuzx, was about how to create original and quality content. The meetUp started at 8:00 am local time, and we finished at 10:30 a.m. Two and a half hours, with question and answer sessions. They all came out motivated and asked for once the date of the next visit.

This first meeting was attended by 47 people, all members of the management and teaching staff. The three main executives were the one that demonstrates institutional commitment to accept our proposal.

A Tour through the campus.

After the meeting, the Director general of the institution assigned a guide to take us around the facilities located on campus. By the time we made this event, the students had not yet reached the institute. So it was a little lonely the atmosphere. The tour began with the meditation site located in Los Samanes Park, a beautiful site reserved for meditation. Then we went to the Venepan bakery, where the students work to be able to pay their own expenses. After that we went to the printing house where the graphic arts workshops of the institution are located. From there we went to the elementary and high school areas. To finish, we went to the Restaurant for lunch. The dish was really good. That's how the day ended. We return to our home sites.

The Next Appointment

We are invited for the next event, this time with the students. We will tell you about this adventure also when we celebrate it on Wednesday March 21st of this year. The targets are clear for that day. That same day we will have a business meeting with the financial team of the institution to adapt the payment system through Steem or SBDs by the students.

Conclusions

As I expressed at the beginning, our purpose is to bring the virtual world closer to the real world. Venezuela needs that approach. Many students from different parts of Venezuela want to study in IUNAV, but the economic crisis does not allow to realize that dream, Steemit is the real alternative for them. Very good professionals who practice teaching in IUNAV observe how their personal income deteriorates, and they love working in IUNAV due to the unsurpassed work environment that is breathed there. Steemit is the next and real alternative. Our task as mentors is to bring them closer to this new reality in order to overcome this crisis.
