This stuff is hugely interesting - I always say the UK isn't like this but I DO wonder if it's because of my whiteness. Or perhaps the areas we've lived in have been sleepy towns and are a bit more friendly and open minded
I think your whiteness probably has a lot to do with it. My brown or Muslim friends from the UK have had a time of it.
I'm going to see if I can read a few stories!
