This is what I have always said, you keep you main job while doing other activities in your free time that will take time to profit you. It's like steemit, we all know we can't make a living of this at the beginning, but when time and effort pay off, you will have it made. I think we should have active and passive investments, the active ones will provide us with enough money to buy basic things, like food, medicines,bills, etc. And the passive ones will grow over time and reward you in the future. Patience is key!
