Summer Backpacking Checklist
Photos and list of items I use for hiking long-distance in the wilderness. Weight is around 15 lbs. without water and food. Cozy and warm gear suited for late summer hiking in the Sierra Nevada.
Photo of me in front of Mt. Rainier carrying all the stuff and more for snow travel.
Great idea.i love this
Most welcome.my dear friend @oyec..
Great Idea to post a packing list, thanks
There are many materials for tracking. It helps me to prepare for backpacking.
All this fit into that backpack? How long did your journey last?
The photo is from a 7 day trip last year in Washington. The setup can hold 14 days of food. Yes it all fits! :)
Wow! I always dreamt of something like this! But it's not so easy to get away in EU (as far as i know, every inch of the mainland is used). Were you in a park of some sort?
This hike was on the PCT in Washington. I'm sure if you look around you'll find good hikes close to you.
looks like you are all set to go. How much food are you allowing per day? And water?
Varies. Most water ever carried was 3 gal. for a 12 mile dry stretch. Usually carry 2 litres or so. Food, the equivalent of about 10 snickers bars a day. Add olive oil to everything.
That's all you eat with all this walking? I am surprised.
I like your idea of packing watercolor pencils, you must love art and the quiet moments in creating your masterpiece.
Yeah I should eat more. When we finally got to town, I ate about 40 oz. of steak! The art stuff is nice for downtime, yes. I recently switched out the pencils for a portable pallete, haven't tried it yet though.
WOW, that American life, 40 oz! You can't find it here in Asia, very difficult.
BTW, about watercolor pallette, I try using a water brush with it, great for outdoor, don't need to carry a water bottle. Are you familiar with it? It is popular in Asia. Try this utube intro:
Will do thanks so much! :)
