My volunteering experience part 1
When I decided to give up on my business in my home country, which was by the way one of the hardest decision I took in my life, I never imagined I could end up doing this : volunteering.
I arrived to Bangkok by the beginning of October. I was supposed to do business with some Thai people, but it ended up to be not exactly what I though before moving to Thailand. I had then to stop working with them by the end of November, too much drama around, too much risk and a lot of other details which I can not say.
Anyway, I knew about the volunteering opportunity back when I was in an exchange program in The US in 2014. I really loved the concept and the idea behind. For me, it was one of the things I really wanted to do, create a change to others, give others ressources so that can start by themselves.
I was very excited to do it back in my country. Unfortunately, I could not commit at 100% to it. I was afraid to fail, I was busy with my studies and my business at the same time, I had personal and emotional problems. I know, I keep telling myself : "you are always looking for reasons...excuses ... JUST DO IT". My fear and non self-confidence were stronger.
I was not able to do it in my hometown. I just stopped thinking about it for a while. Meanwhile, my friend, I knew her at the same exchange program in the US; she was able to start it in her country, she had great support from the US embassy, Im so proud of her. I gave a little bit help at the second edition of the opportunity, it was a great success for her and I am so glad to witness that.
I decided to start it here in Thailand. I needed first to apply to be a regional ambassador, it is a process of two weeks maximum. You answer to some questions, and of course add some people's email to refer you. It was fast since they already knew me. I became the regional ambassador of Thailand Chapter. They provide for us all the necessary tools to start.
My mission has started on November 18th, after agreeing on the memorandum of understanding document. I prepared a communication strategy, social media accounts (facebook, instagram and twitter) , prepared the necessary posters, flyers and banners.
It was just the beginning, I never imagined it could be that hard.
In the next part I will talk about what is the name of the volunteering opportunity and what is its mission.

@rachabella

Thank you :D
You are amazing - really nice, good and worthy person. The World needs more people like you to be a better place.
I'm so happy for you that you became a regional ambassador and that everything went well. You must be feeling fulfilled because you are doing something from your heart and you follow your passions and dreams. Congratulations. Not all people have balls to do that.
I'm looking forward to read next chapter of your volunteering story.
