Back to School
This week many students will return back to school for the new school year. To ensure student safety the driving speed is reduced from 30 to 15 miles in Texas, when traveling around inner city school zones to accommodate children running, walking and riding their bikes to school. Fines for speeding or not stopping for a school bus run from $200-1,000.00.
In addition to adhering to the school speed limits, drivers can be fined for using their cell phones in school zones. The first offense is $250 but can go higher. So don’t forget to stop for buses, reduce your speed and look both ways for children excited to return back to school.
