An effort to be ignorant

When did we begin to make an effort to be ignorant? What point in time did we, in our entirety, decided to stick our head in the sand and our asses in the air? Taking it like a champ. Denial rapes us senile, and we sit by passively, allowing our most precious assets to defiled. Our air, food and water are being poisoned, mutated, and polluted. The communities have digitalized all interactions leaving us alone in crowds. We twiddle lonely finger til silence breaks knuckles into bleeding fist. Monotony is our every day work sleep work sleep work sleep. The work days are getting longer with less pay. Insidious moves like molasses. No one notices as the enemy of freedom snuck into constitution and slashed the wrist to our pursuit for happiness. Now that we are here hemorrhaging from the wounds . What we decided to do is squeeze our eyes shut, cover our ears and run blindly screaming "LA LA LA LA LA I CANT HEAR YOU!" We slam right into the elaphant in the room and throw a rug on its head and pretend the issues at hand are just fragments of our imagination and keep telling ourselves the blood all over the place is just red paint. We walked into our own prison cell locked the door and threw the powers that shouldn't be the key. Please make me a slave, so,Ii can be safe! please make me a slave, so, I can be comfortable! I am your slave because I believe everything you say!!
Once apron a time, we had a grasp on what was the truth. This was when information wasn't filtered through 3g, LCD screens, and networks. We've been caught in a web and the spider has sucked most of us dry of all compassion, common sense and courtesy. Those still remaining are brainwashed into believing there is nothing we can do to stop it. Like a pessimistic elephant tied to a stick that he won't attempt to break because as a child he didn't have the strength. We have the strength. We just don't have the faith. Our children are growing up completely unaware of what human companionship is. What human interaction we have is spent together staring at a phone
If society could have a personality disorder it would be histrionic. Selfie taking Attention seeking more thumbs, more hearts, Swipe left, swipe right. Dramatic and shallow displays of Emotional and cognitive ability. Does anyone remember the human contact? The basics community? The cell phone came in and removed the socialization in our society. Those are distant memories.
