As a man who is disguised as a female, he spoke very well about the issue. Legislators, no matter what laws they pass, cannot change the fact that there are only TWO genders. Ask any doctor who completes birth records, death records, or performs autopsies.
While anyone can get plastic surgery, take hormones, change name, wear make-up, change hair, and dress as the opposite gender and deceive people, the physical body does not lie. The chromosomes do not lie.
Legislators need to understand that the proper pronoun to use is the one that describes the physiological body, not the feelings of the person, how they dress, or how they appear.
I understand the sentiment of so-called transgender people who feel the pronoun of their gender does not adequately describe them. At the same time, they are misleading people to think they are a gender that they are not. They want to hide their gender, instead of being proud of WHO they are.
There is another problem. The very word "transgender" is not itself a proper description. A gender cannot move or be transported into anything else. The word "trans-identifier" is a better description.
Using the term "trans-identifier" is a more accurate description for identification purposes. There are some "trans-identifiers" who change appearance between male and female at different times, thereby creating confusion with recognition.
Those people who believe, or want other people to believe they are a gender that they are not are psychologically and emotionally damaged. Those people who appear to be the opposite gender, while understanding what gender they really are may be less psychologically damaged.
Not all "trans-identifiers" are homosexual, and not all homosexuals are "trans-identifiers". It is important to understand that those males who are homosexual or bi-sexual are committing sodomy. Sodomy is a crime in every religion and every government.
This situation needs understanding. They should not be loved any less, or mistreated. However, the world cannot accept their psychological damage as normal. We all have psychological damage and/or abnormalities to one degree or another, about something; but may not have special needs. Special laws are not going to be created for every type of disorder, or special need.
"Trans-identification" is a medical diagnosis, and some "trans-identifiers" do have special needs that should be addressed, but not to the detriment of other people. And, special needs already have legal protections.
Also, for any medical doctor to misrepresent facts, and include the false gender designation on a medical record is a crime; as no doctor, no medical procedure, and no hormone treatments can change the gender of any person or thing. Any doctor who tells a patient that his or her gender has been changed is committing fraud.
Any legislature that votes to have any gender identification other than female or male, and the proper pronouns associated with these TWO genders is demonstrating ignorance of anatomy, physiology, biology, genetics, and linguistics at a minimum. To do so, they unveil their own psychological issues, and further contribute to the existing psychological issues exhibited by people who are "trans-identifiers". Lastly, they create a greater problem with identification of these individuals, and open a Pandora's Box for anyone who would want to switch back and forth between gender identification for nefarious purposes.
Thank you for finding someone who is a "trans-identifier", and I thank him for being willing to have a realistic discussion on this important subject.

It seems we are living in a country—perhaps world—of extremes and false dichotomies. You either believe someone can be whatever gender, species, or inanimate object they want to be, or everyone has to fall in line to two caricaturized versions of gender. There's no balance or dialog between the two camps, and the SJWs and Alt-Righters are forcing everyone to choose sides. Reality is more nuanced, fluid, and still more rigid than we like to accept. Identity can supersede biology, but biology plays a foundational role in forming your identity. I think the caricaturization and exploitation of the feminine and masculine has led to their rejection, which has led to the current state of confusion.
