BREXIT Advice = We should All Be Preppers! - THE CLIFF-EDGE SCENARIO!
So, the Preppers in U.K. are all GoofBalls?
As #Brexit approaches, the hype and scaremongering increases too. Lets face it . . . . The politicians in England have had long enough to ensure our security, stability and a smooth transition away from the beurocracy of a faceless Brussels decision centre! - Anyway, I shall not delve into the politics of it all, in fact I am pretty sceptical about Brexit happening at all!
Down to contingencies!
There are stirrings currently afoot about food securty, post Brexit. Is it Media Hype or insider information leaks? One thing I know for sure is that I am glad I am a Prepper!
If the general public are as manipulative as I think, then panic, knee-jerk reactions may well ensue. Mainstream media are now reporting that there WILL be food shortages as a result of a distruption of the free-flow of goods / food from the EU.
This distruption could cause the current 50,000 ton influx of food per day to stagnate at our ports, causing a huge supply-chain interruption....For how long, who knows? We are only 9 meals away from Anarchy - Well that may well be a well educated and prepper popularist guess, but in this scenario I personally think that time frame will extend, since the supply chain may be distrupted and not cut-off! Maybe we should be looking at an escalation of violence beyond 1 month?

What I do know is that all you have to do though is to look back at the busy shopping periods and how society reacts to shortages and how they panic-buy (Christmas | Black Friday | Bank Holidays).
As a result of this uncertainty, most major news sources are advising the general public to stock up on food now. Advice is pretty simple at the moment, but SHOCK TACTICS Never work and so the majority of the population will leave it until the last minute, continually relying on our Government to step-in and save the day!
We could see MEDICINE DEFICITS | FOOD PRICE-HIKES | FOOD FRAUD | THEFT | ALLOTMENT PILLAGING | HUGE LORRY TAILBACKS | GROCERY SHORTAGES including CHILLED/FROZEN goods | UNREST.
No doubt the military will be on standby to provide Military Aid to the Civil Authority. Not so much martial law, but may result in transportation support for essential supplies (the 'normal' person on the street will probably not see or be privvy to such actions).
BUY BRITISH, SUPPORT THE LOCAL ECONOMY & PREPARE!
If you grow your own food you will not be as concerned. If you are a Prepper or a Homesteader then you no doubt will be ahead of the curve and have a greater sustainment period than most people. There may be a business opportunity on the horizon at local markets! If you haven't even a fully stocked cupboard or think the Government will step in, you will be in for a big surprise!
My advice - AT LEAST ensure your food security! Have at least a months worth of food (that you normally eat) and so avoid any mass hysteria, panic or rush to the supermarket for those last remaining EU Goods.
NOW, am I scaremongering? NO! This can and may be a REAL threat only monhts away! If it doesn't happen, then you can just eat your remaining food and carry on as normal.

I'm not at the extreme end of the prepper line, but i can and will hold my own.
In any crisis, the government is concerned about law and order, fixing the problem, and itself. The population is not the focus or even concern. I always say, no one is going to rescue you but you. I beleived the Brexit isn't going to happen from the beginning. Those is control have too much to lose and it disrupts the global plan these soulless ghouls have for you folks over there. Great article. Hype/manipulation or reality? Who knows. Self-sufficiency and preparedness rides out many storms. Stay safe.

Britain is waay too fragile in all aspects from transportation to the supply chain...
This is going to get interesting regardless of the outcome.
It seems to me that this talk of food security is a means of hiding the real reason on the visible horizon because of the ever increasing global crop losses due to weather extremes/grand solar minimum (see output from @adapt2030 & @iceagefarmer for the latest reports on what's happening to our food supply. I highly recommend them).
I should really update my inventory records but I think I'm currently running at +12 weeks worth of grub for the Egg HQ inhabitants :)
If Brexit does occur, no doubt the politicians will have agreed to a highly watered-down version. [gravy-train] ;)
Sounds like you've got a good base for a stable foodsource. I also work on a 3 monthstockpile (of everything), although it can be quite hard to look after, maintain and rotate,,, almost a full time job.
My oldest white rice (5 years now) is still in good condition, I checked it back in Spring.
I intend to supplement the 'empty calories' with wild greens and the odd pigeon ;)
