DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME, IS IT A BURDEN?

The second Sunday of March, you spring forward your clock. It means you lose one hour of sleep if you are a late sleeper.
It means too you have one more hour of daylight before the night.
Most likely when it is dark it is getting really late.
But now the first Sunday in November, we fall back. We just gain that hour we lost, you remember in March.
So Apparently we spent a whooping 8 months in Daylight saving time and four months in Standard time. Minus well spent the whole year in DST.

At the beginning the idea might be appropriate to propel the economy but now it took a different route.
Businesses used it for leverage for more business.
Let's say it is still daylight after 6pm, you tend to stay out more and do more shopping.
It helps a lot of businesses flourish during the change.
At the same time it hurts certain business too like TV. Since people are out shopping so they are not glued in front of TV from prime time shows.

CHANGE OR NOT?

Quite a few states like Hawaii do not change their time. Maybe Florida wants to stay all year long in DST.
A lot of countries keep on time in the book.
It has to do with a lot of PR to get the news out.
In the long run the need for Daylight Saving Time started in 1700+. So before that nobody feels the need for that.
I think it is a burden. It is a way of putting more control.
It is a disruption in a way.
Hopefully with technology it should happen seamlessly but if you have a mechanic watch you have to do it yourself.
Not every steemian has to deal with DST.

Please tell me from where you are, do you see a need for DST?

It needs to go. I work in retail and it just interferes with work. We have to change times on so many processes and we just don't need to. I know there is discussions at the moment to get rid of it so I hope that they just pick a time zone and run with it.

Daylight saving time starts Sunday, March 11: Why this monstrous burden continues

politics politics politics. Even though everything turns around it.

Mee too fall in this category because I also feel bad When I checked time again and again in the College @pouchon

That is essentially what happens, we adjust over time. However, 20-minute increments might be very confusing, in terms of bus schedules, closing times, dentist appointments, etc.

Let’s just go to Universal (GMT) Time, and let everybody figure out when to start work, school, when to eat breakfast, dinner, etc. The internet wants us to.
