@polebird: ✨ My first lyra class - spin me! Dtube lyra combo ✨
Lyra or aerial hoop is an aerial art that I have been wanting to try! I finally made it to a class since they recently changed our studio's schedule to offer lyra at a time that I could attend. Lyra has some similarities to pole, but also a lot of differences. It did help to have muscle strength for pull up and to be used to hanging of the leg. The hoop is made of metal and it is normally wrapped with a type of tape, and the thickness of the hoop itself is a lot less than a pole. Another difference I probably will need to get used to is that, although the pole itself can spin, it still remains in the same spot (except for flying pole!). The lyra was swinging all over the place haha so I need to remember to properly get on. This video was taken at the end of the class, and it was the first time I spun on the hoop as well (thanks to the help of my friend!) Hope you enjoyed the video - I had so much fun playing on the hoop and definitely want to continue to cross- train lyra! Have you guys tried any aerial arts?
Love,
Jess

Very beautiful, as always :)
So cool! :D
Thanks @crissimoes! :)
Amazing video! You are so talented :)
thank you so much! <3
Love watching your videos of you trying all these new things.
This must be quite different than the pole, but you still make it look so easy and so beautiful.
Thanks!! Yeah it was! Its a lot rougher on the hands, due to the smaller diameter and the tape causing some friction.
Sometimes new thet ye... Anyway it's all the same just different relationships to gravity... Right? 🌟✌️
thanks yeah! :) hehe pretty fun!
You do very great for the first time! In the second position I think more beautiful to stretch both legs in split. Keep on doing. Lyra gives a lot of fun
