19 CRIMES

This evening, to unwind from an unusually hectic day, I cracked open a bottle of rebellion

I rarely drink, but on this occasion I wanted something different. Something with a story...

This new wine called 19 Crimes, is an Australian product that has a nostalgic feel from its clever label to the marketing display in the store. All to give you a background and a bit of history for the experience.

The concept is a wine that celebrates rule-breaking convicts who turned adversity into an art form. Back in the 1700s, British criminals were sentenced to live in Australia rather than be put to death. This was a punishment in the form of transportation to a rugged new world where they had to colonize and start over - often in harsh conditions.

A kind of reluctant pirate, I guess you could say.

I read the accounts on the bottle and even followed up online to immerse myself in the journey. Overall, it seemed to be your average vino.
But truth be told, as far as grocery store wine goes, it reflects the characteristics of those it celebrates. . . Strong, bold, and defiant by nature
